ESPN has written a long profile about Brooklyn Nets owner Joe Tsai, and it highlights how he has brought his support of the Chinese Communist Party to the NBA.
According to ESPN, Tsai “personifies the compromises embedded in the NBA-China relationship, which brings in billions of dollars but 'requires the league to do business ' with an authoritarian government.
“Tsai believes much of the criticism he receives is politically motivated by people who purposely distort his views, according to sources close to him,” the ESPN report reads.
Tsai thinks there isn't a humans rights problem in China because about 80%-90% of the population is "very, very happy.” That apparent happiness is enough to shrug off genocide against the Uyghurs. But Tsai still happily donates to social justice causes in the U.S. Just like the NBA, Tsai is always willing to find fault with the U.S., but China must never be insulted.

Many years ago no on ever heard of Joe Tsai
But we all knew the way to San Jose
Which authoritarian government are they talking about — China’s or New York City’s?
Lets all root for my favorite team, the Boston Celtics, to sweep Tsai’s miserable Nets starting this Easter Sunday!!!
Either being blackmailed by the Reds or a greedy comsymph.
The NBA owes its soul to the CCP. Don’t support these horrible people.
This became inevitable once we sent our manufacturing there; they can’t spend US dollars in the massive slave camp they operate, so they must spend it elsewhere. Similar to the wealthy Arabs buying European soccer clubs; they can’t just buy more sand...
Once they are buying these assets, they have to buy the politicians to protect the investments; Trump was removed because they could buy him as they had the other leading Republocrats.
Meanwhile Rush Limbaugh was denied ownership in a NFL team because he was “controversial”..
Canada, again...
Speaking of Canada, wonder what's going on with the Ports America sale...
Watchdog raises concern about Canadian pension investments in China
Speaking of buying assets, see my reply #9...
Very interesting; thank you!
Apparently our elites get riled up when their positions are in danger but not when our are (for example, the open borders). They fear losing control of their kingdom here to outside interests, but have little concern as we lose our livelihoods and neighborhoods...
The ChiComs can have the bloody NBA for all I care.
Our ports are another matter.
Interesting that there has been zero public pushback on this from Congress, don’cha think...
Sure, I understand the difference (and couldn’t care less about the bread-and-circuses economy of the NBA/NFL/MLB/MLS); it riles me that they don’t care that our wages are artificially suppressed by their open borders policy while our neighborhoods start to resemble the Third World dumps these trafficked foreigners left behind.
Hey Al Gore, you comments have a nice rhythm to them!!!
