The fact that prominent media outlets such as The Atlantic and CNN are enlisting Obama’s help, without a hint of irony but with a straight face, evinces everything that is wrong with the news industry.
Obama appeared last week at The Atlantic’s conference on "Disinformation and the Erosion of Democracy." Sounds pretty serious. While speaking about the dangers and harm of disinformation campaigns, Obama defined it as "a systematic effort to either promote false information, to suppress true information, for the purpose of political gain, financial gain, enhancing power, suppressing others, targeting those you don't like."
That’s a pretty good definition. It's also a rare moment of self-reflection from the former president.
Obama also got the fluff treatment on this topic from CNN's Donie O'Sullivan, a reporter who spends most of his days wandering around Trump rallies with a microphone searching out those with kooky beliefs. It's a practice not new to CNN. Sullivan states how "Eric Schultz, an Obama adviser, said the former President views disinformation as a 'through line for all of the challenges we face right now,' including the pandemic, climate change and racial injustice. And for Obama, Schultz added, the 'arc of this issue also tracks the arc of his public life'

It was pretty telling the other day, when Obama was out there
and Biden was right there, and everyone was glad handing the
man behind the curtain.
How much more obvious could they have been.
I think you’ve got a point there, bringing him out might
quell some of the unrest.
I’m not sure that folks are going to fall for it though.
Their family’s finances are the trump card there.
I’d have to agree on the long haul. I still think Biden is
a threat to the Constitution because what is going on right
now is way outside our Constitution’s bounds.
“The shovel ready projects weren’t so shovel ready…”
Obama was outside the bounds of the Constitution.
He is not a natural born citizen.
He was born a Kenyan national/British subject wherever he was born and is not a natural born citizen, even if he was born in Hawaii.
Natural born citizens have only one nationality and could not be anything else, that is why they are naturally citizens.
Pretending to undo the harm they’ve done, they’ll finish the job.
The utter fakery of this Administration and most politicians today is stunning - they cannot hide and most don’t care or think it matters that we know.
.
It would appear we’re entering or in a Dark Age, .... wisdom is confused with information,.... truth is problematized as spin,.... faith is ridiculed as superstition,.... language is tightly controlled,.... and reason is shouted down by ‘weaponized emotion’.....
If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor. Cops are racist. The economy is booming. Abortion is healthcare. Opposition to sodomy is hate. Government is gracious and God is a bigot. Court decisions are laws. Two mommies are as good as a mommy and a daddy. We need more money for education. Bruce Jenner is a woman. God is dead and the Supreme Court is alive!
Liberals….believe the liars…support the liars…vote for the liars. They serve the father of lies..........satan!!!!
Just love how they use the word democracy in everything they do.
A systematic effort to promote false information.
If you want to keep your doctor you can
Shovel ready jobs
Cash for clunkers
Billions in solar company that went bust
Iran Nuclear deal
on and on and on...........................
We’re pretty much on the same page. If all his public records
were released, I think there’s a very good chance he registered
as a foreign national in his college days.
I could be wrong, but his birth certificate isn’t worth the
paper it was pooped on.
I think you are correct, he entered Occidental as an Indonesian student.
Used that Indonesian passport to go to Pakistan.
Occidental is about 3-5 miles from me.
We have a few miles of freeway within a mile of me, they
(not Occidental) named after its most famous idiot with a
diploma.
(I believe it was our state that named it, but it may be
the feds who did it. Revolting, either way...)
Funny thing is, I’ve never actually see the sign, and I
drive that section of freeway often enough. I don’t think
anyone would be proud to see his name on it.
Maybe others have seen it. I haven’t pegged it yet.
