For the sake of argument, let’s say that it was being towed. Why was it being towed? What broke?
You were saying?
L
Special military operation is still going according to plan. Ukrainian rockets successfully destroyed. No repair needed. Artificial reef skillfully placed.*
(* I shamelessly stole this from twitter).
“Rest went down with the ship.”
How many is “rest”
It was an accident, I tellya. An accident, dammit.
Anybody ever seen the video of the russian ship showing off its armaments? The missiles misfire and a few crashed into each other and barely made it past the bow.
Was it this one?
RK-360MT Neptunes are mobile anti-ship cruise missile capable of destroying targets within a range of 300 km.
The 16-ft long engine-powered missiles can travel at speeds of up to 560mph (900 km/h) and at heights of between nine and 30ft above the surface.
So they travel a bit under the speed of sound. The noise would have been masked by the storm as well as the radar signature.
If that’s true, somewhere around 450 went down with the ship.
The Russians are admitting it was fire caused my munitions explosion. They’re just not telling you who’s munition caused the explosion and fire on the ship
Dead orc.
Dead orc.
Dead orc, dead orc, dead orc, dead orc, dead orc.
Wait, wait! This can’t be!
I was told by the warmongering putinistas that the crew had been evacuated!
I was told that there was just some damage from an explosion, the fire was out, and the boat was traveling under its own power to drydock to get patched up and would re-enter service in maybe a year!
And then when it appears the boat’s engines failed, that it was being towed successfully! The damage was no big deal!
Lesson learned: When a poster puts a pro-russia spin on any incident in this war, answer: “Moskva,” and mentally ignore anything the poster and his allies say thereafter.
All sides in this war are lying. But the russians have more experience and skill at lying, and thus, are just better at it.
All that being said, reports are of a 500+ crew, with but 54 survivors. I hope that is grossly inaccurate and many more of the crew were saved. For those who died:
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen

This could be a momentous event and that video does it more justice than the LOL memes.
Russia can’t hide or explain this. All their navy will know what really happened.
The idea their behemoth of a flagship rolled over in a storm after a minor accidental fire causing the rest of the fleet to flee tens of miles instead of rendering assistance isn’t going to fly.
Blaming it on an accident simply looks like a ridiculous deflection away from manifest incompetence at the highest levels. It was sunk by Ukrainian missiles, days after Zelenskyy was trending on twitter for holding up stamps with this boat on them AND GRINNING.
It’s the anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic.
Ukraine practically signposted this attack. Yet Russia and the Putin bots, being so utterly corrupted by years of swallowing any and all own fake news and false flags spat out by the Kremlin machine, didn’t come close to spotting the danger.
Apparently one senior military official in Russia actually had an infarction on hearing the news.
Its quite possible for both reports to be right. It was hit by two missiles. And the resulting fire caused their munitions to cook off.
I had heard that the ship was mostly evacuated before. There may have been a small crew left on board to fight the fire. Who knows. We’ll no doubt hear more as the hours roll on.
Either way, it has forced the ships back. But not far enough back to be out of missile range. The Ukrainians can theoretically do it again if they can do it once.
Meanwhile, it sounds like quite a few families will be getting letters this week. The only question is how many.
Up until now the ships have been able to shell Odessa and Mariupol with impunity.
Its too late to help Mariupol. But this should give Odessa some relief.
