Our third world country on the West Coast: California Dreaming (Nightmare) is Becoming a Reality
American Thinker ^ | 04/14/2022 | Silvio Canto Jr.

A few years ago, a friend from Brazil visited Los Angeles and was appalled with what he saw. He called it a third world country, a rather amazing comment since my friend lives in Sao Paulo. He said that LA is not what he remembered 25 years ago. It was sad, or so he said.

Well, California is in decline no matter how wonderful the climate is.  Just ask the people who live there like Joel Kotkin:

Despite the state’s myriad advantages, research shows it plagued by economic immobility and inequality, crushing housing and energy costs, and a failing education system.

Worse than just a case of progressive policies creating regressive outcomes, it appears California is descending into something resembling modern-day feudalism, with the poor and weak trapped by policies subsidized by taxes paid by the rich and powerful.

California may conjure images of Rodeo Drive and Malibu mansions in the public imagination, but today the state suffers the highest cost-adjusted poverty rate in the U.S.

The poor and near-poor constitute over one third -- well over 10 million -- of the state’s residents according to the Public Policy Institute of California.

Los Angeles, by far the state’s largest metropolitan area, and once a magnet for middle class aspirations, has one of the highest poverty rates among major U.S. cities.

A United Way of California analysis shows that over 30 percent of residents lack sufficient income to cover basic living costs even after accounting for public-assistance programs; this includes half of Latino and 40 percent of black residents.

Some two-thirds of noncitizen Latinos live at or below the poverty line.

How does such a failed state survive? Well, the rich live in well-protected gated communities and attend a climate change seminar often to feel relevant.

And, californians who are able, flee that sewer for other "utopias." Then they immediately continue those policies that destroyed california, in the first place.

That's why everybody hates californians. Even on tv and the movies, californians are depicted as stupid. Obtuse.

Pity. California is a beautiful state.

Los Angeles has become like a superannuated prostitute, no longer able to use enough makeup to cover up the ravages of time or to disguise the underlying rot, corruption and disease that rage within.

The scars of the various STDs are showing, and the odor emanating should be sufficient to drive away the most ardent (or horny) of suitors.

Our third world country on the West Coast: California Dreaming (Nightmare) is Becoming a Reality!

The head of the Los Angeles Police Department’s union had a message for tourists planning a trip to the city this past holiday season – don’t do it. Don’t go to Los Angeles.

That’s quite a message coming from the second-largest city in the United States. The rising crime rate running rampant across the country is hitting Los Angeles especially hard.

Jamie McBride, head of the union representing LAPD officers, said he can’t guarantee personal safety. His warning came with a movie reference.

“My message to anyone thinking about coming to Los Angeles, especially during the holiday season, is don’t,” Jamie McBride, the head of the LA Police Protective League, the union representing LAPD officers, said in a television interview. The message from McBride comes as what many residents and business owners view as a wave of crime slamming the city and surrounding areas.

“We can’t guarantee your safety. It is really, really out of control. I said it to people before, it’s like that movie ‘Purge,’ you know, instead of 24 hours to commit your crime, these people have 365 days to commit whatever they want,” McBride said.

Victor Davis Hanson: Third-Worldizing America
Authored by Victor Davis Hanson, op-ed via Townhall.com,

It’s called Third Worldization! It’s the utter breakdown of the law, and the ability of the rich within such a feudal society to find ways to avoid the violent chaos.

Neistat was right in identifying a pandemic of crime in Los Angeles as Third Worldization. In a recent online exchange, YouTuber, Casey Neistat vented his anger after his car was broken into and the contents stolen. Los Angeles, he railed, was turning into a “3rd world s***hole of a city.”

The predictable role of the smug, indifferent Third World rich, who master ignoring – and navigating around – the misery of others in their midst. In a medieval-type society of two rather than three classes, the rich in walled estates rarely worry that much about thievery. Crime is written off as an intramural problem of the poor, especially when the middle class is in decline or nonexistent.

Such impoverishment pales in comparison to the encampments of present-day Fresno, Los Angeles, Sacramento, or San Francisco. Tens of thousands live on sidewalks and in open view use them to defecate, urinate, inject drugs, and dispose of refuse.

Violent crime is soaring in America. Two things are different about America’s new criminality.

• One is the virtual impunity of it. Thieves now brazenly swarm a store, ransack, steal, and flee with the merchandise without worry of arrest.

• • Second, the Left often justifies crime as a sort of righteous payback against a supposedly exploitative system.

So, the architect of the so-called 1619 Project, Nikole Hannah-Jones, preened of the riotous destruction of property during the summer of 2020: “Destroying property, which can be replaced, is not violence.”

Third Worldization reflects the asymmetry of law enforcement. Ideology and money, not the law, adjudicate who gets arrested and tried, and who does not.

The above statements excerpted from: Victor Davis Hanson’s: “Third-Worldizing America
Nation & State” ^ | 12-4-2021 | Victor Davis Hanson

California became transformed because many of the whites, due to drugs, neo pagan decadence, and the climate which was not conducive to people who neurologically evolved in northern Europe became self loathing and crazy.

They will not be happy until California exists as gated mansions high atop the hills while the teeming masses eat each other and live in cardboard box favelas, just like the City of God in Rio de Janeiro.

Democrats have achieved the winning formula: they win elections while refusing to take care of their constituents. I don't know how they do it...

It's the true believer syndrome, reinforced by constant propaganda and indoctrination.

I've seen it myself in relatives who live there.

Yeah, thats the stereotype.

I have a couple of neighbors, recently arrived from Texas, who fit right in with that stereotype.

Imagine - up until the mid-late eighties CA was a solidly purple state like FLA, even with all those stereotypical CA nutbars.

California was conservative. Forever. Until California's generosity was exploited by those filthy, diseased, mongrelized hippies that flooded in during the sixties.

Too stupid and lazy to fend for themselves, the "flower children" depended upon the charity of Californians. Then the movement ended, but the hippies remained.

California should have hounded them back to Topeka. I hate hippies.

They’re not quite full communist, yet; they’re still in the last throes of socialism — a ‘rest stop’ on the way to communism — before they make the full jump to communism.

LIBERALISM
You have 2 cows.
The State takes both cows, slaughters them for their own food,
and taxes you to death for worthless social programs, for having
the animals originally.

PROGRESSIVISM
You have 2 cows.
Progs advocate for advancements in science, technology,
economic development and social organization, but they’re so full
of bullshit, nothing ever changes.
You still have 2 cows.

SOCIALISM
You have 2 cows.
The State forces you to give one to your neighbor, shoots the neighbor and forces you to milk them both, giving all milk back to the state.
The State gives you a cup of sour milk.

LEFTISM
You have 2 cows.
The State terrrorizes the animals until they can’t produce milk,
beats you and your wife to death, and puts your daughters & sons
into the Pedophile Nation, for the Epsteins, Weiners, Clintons etc.

MARXISM
You have 2 cows.
The government takes both and tosses you into a hog pen, where you’re
devoured and never found.

COMMUNISM
You have 2 cows.
The State takes both and gives you nothing.
They shoot your family and put you in a gulag.

DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISM
You have 2 cows.
The State takes both, promises more free cows, lets you vote and gives you sour milk.

FASCISM
You have 2 cows.
The State takes both and sells you some milk.

NAZISM
You have 2 cows.
The State takes both and shoots your wife and kids.

ANARCHISM
You have 2 cows.
The State shoots the cows, you and your family.

CRONY CAPITALISM
You have two cows.
The State takes both, milks, slaughters them, and makes a tidy profit from the sale
of choice meat cuts and fresh milk.
You get some lousy hamburger and a jar of sour milk.

BUREAUCRATISM
You have 2 cows.
The State takes both, shoots one, hires a sub-contractor to milk the other, and then throws the milk away.

CONTEMPORARY WALL STREETISM
You have two cows.
You sell one, bundle the other with a goat, a mule,
and two dry cows.
You pile into the derivatives market, buy a Gulfstream
and when it all comes down around your ears...
You go to the government for a bailout.

TRADITIONAL CAPITALISM
You have two cows.
You sell one and buy a bull.
Your herd multiplies, and the economy grows.
You sell them and retire on the income.

Heh...

I think the fall of LA can be timed perfectly with the fall of the LA Times. Otis Chandler achieved a palace coup when he turned his grandfather’s once conservative, business-leaders’ newspaper into a hippie doper diaper baby rag. Once achieved, he simply walked away. That place hasn’t been the same since. Started out as one of the most conservative areas of the country. Andrew Breitbart also wrote about the arrival of the German Socialist expats who arrived in LA at the start of WWII and infiltrated the college campuses there.

Both events significantly changed LA in the worst ways.
