They claim that none of the warring forces coming through here have treated anyone badly, though people have been killed. The Russians gave them bread, which they hadn't seen in weeks.

The Donbass provinces are ethnic Russian, and declared their Independence from Ukraine in 2015. The Ukies signed the Minsk agreements to allow them their Independence, but then started shelling them for 8 years…one of the reasons Vlad went into Ukraine.
Zelensky knows this, and permitted the Azov territorial army ( Neo Nazi’s) to go to war with them, he did nothing to stop the Donbass shelling and bombing.
Vlad will secure their Independence, then go to the negotiating table.
Vlad can now mop up, and finally secure the Independent Donbass provinces.
Should not take to much longer, with that, his stated objectives will be met.
Let’s hope they can finally get to the negotiating table.
Looks like the battle for Eastern Ukraine is going to come down to hordes of Russian manpower and vehicles versus hordes of High Tech Western weaponry. Russia has spent the last few weeks pumping into troops and the West has been burying the Ukrainians with Stingers and other high tech hardware. Lets face it, this is a war between NATO and Russia in all but name, we’re arming the Ukrainians, we’re training them, we’re giving them intelligence and satellite imagery. All they are doing is pushing the fire button.
Let’s hope they can finally get to the negotiating table.

I think it is likely that Ukraine will develop their own nukes as well. They have 15 nuke power plants, the learnings from Chernobyl, plenty of nuke engineers, the nuke materials and now they have the motivation. These 2 invasions would never have happened if the Ukes had kept their nukes and walked away from the Budapest Agreement.
It is in the Ukes’ best interest not to sign any more treaties. As soon as they sign sovereignty away, they are the invaders when they come in and take it back.

Fact: don’t believe western MSM, dig deeper and access Bulgarian ( NATO) news sources, Serbian and Indian news, they are painting a very different picture.

As to the complex - We are talking almost 12 square km, 47 large workshops, 81 other large administrative buildings, the place goes down 9 levels, with a widespread tunnel network, etc.

Ukies signed the Minsk agreements to allow them their Independence
The Minsk agreements called for autonomy in a Donbass reintegrated into Ukraine, not independence. Prior to this, in 1994 Russia had signed an agreement to recognize the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine in exchange for Ukraine giving up its nuclear weapons. Russia violated this agreement when it invaded Crimea and supported an armed revolt among the ethnic Russian minority in Donbass.
Let us not fool ourselves, Russia's invasion is not about protecting the ethnic Russians, it is about reacquiring territories lost to the old Russian state. Putin, like many other Russians, has been clear that he does not recognize Ukraine as a legitimate state.
