2 New Omicron Subvariants Being Tracked
Webmd ^ | 4-12-22 | Ralph Ellis

Posted on 04/12/2022 6:35:43 PM PDT by dynachrome

The World Health Organization is analyzing a few dozen cases of two new sub-variants of the Omicron strain to determine how infectious and dangerous they might be, according to Reuters.

The agency said it added BA.4 and BA.5 to its monitoring list because of their "additional mutations that need to be further studied to understand their impact on immune escape potential,” Reuters said.

All versions of Omicron have proven to be highly transmissible. The BA.2 subvariant now represents about 94% of all sequenced cases but does not appear to cause severe disease, Reuters said. Last week, the CDC said BA.2 accounted for three-quarters of all COVID cases in the United States.

So far only a few dozen cases of BA.4 and BA.5 have been detected. Last week, the UK’s Health Security Agency said BA.4 was detected in South Africa, Denmark, Botswana, Scotland, and England from Jan. 10 to March 30, Reuters said.

All BA.5 cases were in South Africa as of last week, Reuters said, but Botswana's health ministry said Monday four cases of BA.4 and BA.5 had been detected among people aged 30 to 50 who were fully vaccinated and experiencing mild symptoms.

Eventually we’ll get something like the Omicron variant. Nothing we can do but to get it and hope that it is mild.

"Time to huddle in fear in your basement."

I don't have a basement. Is it okay for me to huddle in the theater room with my 4k TV brightness turned low? I'd think BA.8 variant would pass me by.

I just don’t GAF about this anymore. I’ve had it twice and I’m still alive. If it comes for me again, so be it. The odds are I’ll still be fine afterwards.

Yeah, that ought to be OK.

No way to know if you catch it, I don't think they know of any symptoms for the fifth generation sub-sub-variants (if there are any).

Oh, wear a few masks anyway...

288 dead in the UK today. Looks like they are just past peak for whatever variant they are on. Warmth comes. They got smacked by this present surge. Milder variant but their vax has aged itself to useless. Fewer deaths per case X a hell of a lot of cases = more dead.

US has 505 dead today. Still declining from the 3573 dead per day numbers of January. Warmth comes. Our immunity is a bit younger than the UKs. It may take longer for the UK surge to get here.

US life expectancy is now down to 76.6, as of 2021 per data out last week. This is now 5 years lower than avg of 19 peer developed countries. Covid was the #3 killer last year behind cancer and heart disease.

76.6, that’s over 2 yrs lost life expectancy since 2019.

Wouldn’t those be the sub-sub variant and sub-sub-sub variant? This ba1 ba2 ba3 ba4 ba5 sounds more like covid bingo.
Very doubtful anyone but a fauxi disciple would give a flying....well you know.

Actually, there are things that can be done for it.

Take zinc, a zinc ionophore, vitamins C and D, and I would suggest A as well since it is essential for good immune health.

There are breathing exercises for keeping your lungs clear that can be found by a simple google search.

And to prevent complications, get outside and exercise and lose weight since obesity and its attendant health complications are comorbodiities.

This crap about there’s nothing to do but go home and hope for the best is medical malpractice and beyond reprehensible. People don’t have to make themselves victims to satisfy the bloodlust of the left who wants as many casualties as possible.

And that includes you since you are part of the side pushing the hopelessness of it all.

Nothing you can do…..

BS.

But you’re feeding the narrative that this is the Black Plague by acting like we have to have either therapeutics or preventatives.

This disease isn’t worth all that.

Some people are likely very vulnerable. Maybe one day this nonsense will calm down and we can find out exactly whom is in worst shape.

But as it is, it’s mostly a non-issue that doesn’t deserve the fear that insists we need preventatives. Maybe some of the fat people.

Nonsense. You didn’t read what I said and you read too much into what I did say. I never claimed that we HAVE to have preventatives or therapeutics. My response was simply to counter the narrative of hopelessness that claims there is nothing that can be done.

No way have I ever implied in the least this was as bad as the plague and what is generally recommended for Covid is what is usually recommended for ANY cold.

But the narrative of “there’s nothing we can do” proves fatal for some who give up and do nothing. It’s not true that there’s nothing we can do and it simply plays into the hands of big pharma and hospitals who profit financially the most from people who do nothing until they are critical.

Some people simply do not want to sit around and do nothing until they become the latest statistic. They should be given the option of what there really is out there instead of being lied to that there is nothing.

"Oh, wear a few masks anyway..."

LOL. Yeah, that's the ticket. I'm thinking at least 4 masks. Just not sure how many before I pass out from asphyxia and crack my skull. Oh I know, pad my entire house. Instead of Child-Safe, let's call it Corona-Safe, not including the beer.

I’m responding more to the regular postings here saying the same thing. People reciting the same regimen many times over that they have been doing for X months etc.

Reading all this regularly continues to give the impression that this disease is the worst deadliest disease ever.

Sure, there may be good preventatives and therapeutics, but really the only people who need that (enriching the cos making those things, no?) maybe, are those most vulnerable.

Why would you expect a different regime?

If something works, why would you do something different?
