Democrat Kansas Governor Laura Kelly reversed her stance on not allowing local police to work with federal officers to enforce immigration laws by signing a bill on Monday revoking parts of the “safe and welcoming” ordinance put in place in Wyandotte County in February.

Exactly as a matter of fact it is a big pain for Border Patrol agents when PD picks up illegals. The problem is that when local pd gets people it is normally a traffic stop which means it is a smuggling case. So then whoever gets called to respond has to do a ton of paperwork only to be told that they are not going to prosecute.

Kansas is one of those “red” states like Missouri. Missouri, since 1993 (29 years), has had a Democrat governor for 20 of those years, and a Republican governor for only 9.

Hope you're right. Even though Kelly has many advantages going into the election, I think the political climate is such this year that Kelly is going to have a tough time winning re-election.

Expect the Democrats posing as Republicans to go all out and make commercials for the "moderate" Kelly. It worked in 2018 but probably not in 2022.
