Ukraine has accused Russia of using chemical weapons on the port city of Mariupol. A unit of the National Guard of Ukraine claimed Monday that the chemicals were dropped through an unmanned aerial vehicle on civilians in the city. Officials claimed victims are having respiratory failure.
Pentagon spokesman John Kirby responded to the news, saying the Department of Defense cannot confirm the reports. However, he noted officials are monitoring the situation. In the meantime, President Joe Biden previously said if chemical weapons are used, it could prompt an “intense reaction” from the US.

Ukraine policy is to forbid Ukrainian "Prosecutors" from looking in mirrors while pursuing "War Criminals".
tear gas?
Wag!
That!
Dog!
Well, “respiratory failure” sounds more like nerve gas than tear gas.
“A unit of the National Guard of Ukraine claimed”
A lot of words to avoid just saying Azov.

No chance of investigating such a thing. If they could break the siege they would have done so. I don’t see how they hold out much longer.
I have been expecting that once Mariupol falls, which it will, Russia may simply harden its lines and declare victory. Kiev may then come under pressure from its allies to accept fait accompli.
I would hope not. But I certainly don’t trust the Biden White House. They are compromised half a dozen different directions. And they can live with a reduced Ukraine.
My goodness, toilet talk from the Puny one, after all, Puny IS his middle name.
I have no acceptable sources on specific chemicals, however I would believe the Russians would use Internationally Allowed civilian police Tear Gas chemicals as they deemed fit.

Agree.

Also Agree.
“Well, “respiratory failure” sounds more like nerve gas than tear gas.”
Many different gasses can cause respiratory failure such as chlorine, phosgene, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, nitrogen dioxide, and ammonia.
Tear gas exposure can cause chest tightness, coughing, a choking sensation, wheezing and shortness of breath, in addition to a burning sensation in the eyes, mouth and nose; blurred vision and difficulty swallowing. Tear gas can also cause chemical burns, allergic reactions and respiratory distress in severe cases and can create problems in addition with COPD, asthma, or many other lung disorders already there at the time of exposure. The relief of them is with breathing open air which would not be available for a while with the gas in the area and doses of albuterol or xopinex shot into the lungs with the assistance of solu-medrol, a corticosteroid medication used to reduce inflammation in people with various lung conditions.
Nerve gas is much more severe and would require atropine and 2-pam chloride for immediate treatment. The worst of the gasses in blister agent and is in most cases almost immediate deadly.
Other problems could be sarin or VX. Both take time but are just as deadly. Many countries stock these including the US. Chemical agents like mustard gas have been available and used since WWI. German technology originally.

I doubt Russia would use chemical weapons to smoke out Azovstal. Much better to wait for the NATO advisors holed up with the Azov Nazis to come out waving white flags.
My takeaway was MEN looking for a MAN to fight and finding Forced Human Shields.
Darn, I lost my mask.
Well, without sarcasm, some military grade smoke generating cannisters are NOT approved for civilian or police use, so "smoke out Azovstal" might raise some ire.
Much better to wait for the NATO advisors holed up with the Azov Nazis to come out waving white flags.
More accurately: the Nazi NATO Advisers supporting the Nazi Azov Terrorists holed up in Mariupol.
With that, I agree, however I'd advise any NATO there to come out waving White Flags on small, soft rubber sticks, 'cause you know where those are going.
Serious question: Why not just dump twenty truckloads of old tires at the steel plant and light them on fire?
