Russia's Vladimir Putin may yet be humiliated in his scramble to declare a victory in Ukraine by the symbolically important 9 May - even as he prepares to double or even treble his number of forces in the eastern Donbas region.
Following his troops' failure to capture Ukrainian capital Kyiv and other parts of the country's north after more than six weeks' of fighting, the Russian president has withdrawn some of his forces.
Mr Putin is now beginning to redeploy some of those troops towards the Donbas, parts of which are already controlled by Russian-backed separatist groups.
He is said to be eyeing a battlefield win in eastern Ukraine within the next month, so that it will coincide with Russia's annual military parade in Red Square on 9 May.

i heard just now chemical weapons has been used in mariupol.
what percent of what you hear do you think is true
we can verify that chemical weapons was indeed deployed but not who... can we at least agree to that?
Do you remember the big hoax that claimed Assad used chemical weapons, used to demonize Assad and escalate the war
NAPALM them
i heard just now chemical weapons has been used in mariupol

Good question on what is and what isn’t “true”.
In any case, Chemical Weapons are an integral part of Russia’s “standard” attack policy, but they have not yet deployed them as their doctrine dictates.
Sooner or later, it will not be a surprise to see them actually using chemical weapons. The real question is, what will be the rest of the world’s response.

Anonymous is “saying” again! It’s gotta be so then!!
Yes my friend in Kyiv informed me. Unconfirmed Sarin. Apparently delivered by drone. Russia is using chemicals now.
So it’s part of their “standard attack policy” but they have never used them.
That is sophistry
And yes, he heard it from friends of his fighting in Mariupol.

Hmm.
How shocked would you be to find out that the reports of chemical weapons use from your friend in Kiev are a hoax?
Even Hitler and the German army in WWII didn’t bother to produce chemical weapons for use in battle - they viewed then as extremely unreliable and militarily useless
On the other hand, I could imagine both russia and ukraine using tear-gas to clear a building, particularly if they didn’t want to destroy a building, or if civilians were inside as well.
FWIW - US Marines and Blackwater contractors have used tear-gas in Iraq.

Looks like it’s going to come down to war between raw manpower and ground equipment versus high tech Western weaponry and satellite imagery. Russia is flooding Ukraine with men and vehicles, the west is flooding it with anti-personnel/anti-vehicle weapons. Guess we’ll see who wins....
Almost as if you have a fact checkers blue check crib sheet
