After its striking post-invasion setbacks, Russia has appointed a new Ukraine war commander, a U.S. official said Sunday.
Russia has turned to Gen. Alexander Dvornikov, 60, one of Russia’s most experienced military officers and — according to U.S. officials — a general with a record of brutality against civilians in Syria and other war theaters. The senior official who identified the new commander was not authorized to be identified and spoke on condition of anonymity.
“This general will just be another author of crimes and brutality against Ukrainian civilians,” Sullivan told CNN’s “State of the Union.” “And the United States, as I said before, is determined to do all that we can to support Ukrainians as they resist him and they resist the forces that he commands.”

An anonymous claim - what a shocker!
I’ll bet he’s just delighted to get that job.
So the pentagon officer spoke to CNN.
OK, now we know where his allegiances lie.
Putin is really small

No the General is 10 feet tall, like all Russian soldiers.
Other than slaughtering helpless civilians this butcher’ main experience is commanding the VKF. He has no experience commanding large military units of varying composition over large areas.
Since he is Pootie’s buddy, he will be expected to produce some sort of victory by May 9 - Russia’s WWI Victory Day.
He has basically 2 choices - go with what he’s got which are mostly exhausted and worn out troops with low moral, or wait until the recombined BTGs from the Kiev region arrive. The first choice could come at any time. The second will take at least a month, if it is even possible.
Ukraine should program a drone to follow him around and wait for the right moment.
Now we’ll get some action.
I assume you mean WWII. Russia didn't fare so well in WWI.
Yeah typo and they didn’t fair too well in WWII either or against any known major adversary like the Chinese and Japanese
How many generals do they have left? They’ve been dropping like flies lately.
One thing about the Russians they were never shy about giving out medals to the soldiers and service people
The general is in bad need of a decent tailor.
The expression on that General’s face is like he is facing a firing squad.
I’m sure NATO already has that job covered.
