Assuming the date stamp of March 19 and 'analysis' of the commerical satellite image are accurate...Bucha was a contested area that Ukraine wanted to recapture, so its not clear how someone can see this satellite image and automatically conclude the civilian deaths were caused by one side or the other.
Could those deaths have been caused by shelling and if so, which side would have been doing that?
Closer examination of the immediate area as well as forensic examination of the civilian corpses would be needed...not to mention interviews with relatives and other witnesses before any conclusions drawn.
A week has passed since this 'atrocity' was discovered and nothing yet on identification, cause of death, etc. of those bodies in the street. Political leaders and "news" media instead of forensic experts have made the rounds in Bucha, that's all.
There are a whole slew of investigative bodies going at it right now, reported every evening on the news, collecting the facts and evidence of...wait for it...war crimes by the russian army. I guess you’re not paying attention.
Sure, thats why the victims were raped and bound and shot...
No...there is just one investigation and it being run out of the Ukraine Prosecutor General's office. There's nothing impartial about that.
The West has no interest in finding out what happened in Bucha, otherwise the UN would have acted on Russia's request.
Google ‘bucha massacre investigation update today’ and choose from the many stories. Lots of ‘interest’
I will wait on confirmation from the Russian department of the fence on the as before I believe idiot the news that comes out of Ukraine about any of this war
I'm much more interested in what the people who live there are saying...or were saying before the story broke.
For example: Rivne Church Outreach Bucha
There are also videos from a number of Ukraine police battalions that were operating in Bucha after the Russians withdrew, as well as officials giving civilians warnings not to venture outside because Ukraine military were hunting 'spies and sabatours'.
None of these things will ever make the nightly news that folks like you imbibe and yet they provide critical context to understanding what may have happened in Bucha.
