Soooo....I suppose all that radioactive dirt and dust in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone is just fine to camp and dig in. Nothing to worry about, right?

Puh-leeze!

Do you know how stupid that sounds?

The conspiracy theorists around here have lost their collective marbles!

The number of people affected especially if you count contaminated products being distributed to an unsuspecting public especially during the 1950s was greater than what the article you linked to alluded to. One of the primary vectors were dairy products from cows who were fed contaminated hay and alfalfa grown in areas which were contaminated.

You didn’t answer my question. You were lied to and don’t seem to mind.

Good grief, the stupidity and denial of the obvious on this forum has grown strong.

The ability to have an intellegent discussion on this forum has disappeared.

A little information on the stupid things people do when dealing with radioactive sources, many of whom should have known better:

Thank you for confirming that it was the same story.

I have never said one positive thing in this forum about Putin. He is a dictator, possibly terminally ill who has the ability to push the big red button. You are attacking me based on completely groundless conjecture. Please check my posting history by clicking on my name. Pretty funny but not surprising from someone who feels morally superior for using a link from the slimes rather than a “no-name overseas blog site”.

I hate to tell you... but you are batting a thousand today... World News Era is a legitimate site based in the United States. Next time do just a tiny bit of research before spouting more easily disproved nonsense that further discredits your reputation. As far as your accusation that it was “stollen” from the slimes... I have not bothered to research that, but it could also have been purchased from the same source. Do you think the slimes has boots on the ground in Chernobyl? I am sure you probably do... so never mind.

The ability to have an intellegent discussion on this forum has disappeared.

That is an understatement, but in response to the OP maybe not in the way that you seem to believe. Oh, and the proper spelling is “intelligent”... kind of ironic.

My thought is the Ukrainian first peace proposal is to their requirement is to give back the caretaking of the soviet mistake to the russians who want to remake the Soviet Empire.
The New Soviets need to own all the old Soviets problems.

I believe the conscripts in the satellite (old soviet) states are that dumb, yes. Back in the 70s and 80s it was known that Russian soldiers would take sterno, intended for keeping warm on those cold Siberian nights, and strain it to make grain alcohol so they could get drunk. Many died of poisoning from such stupidity.

How many stupid millennials do you know?

No doubt you have seen the maps of the effected area around the NV test site, and other areas.
Funny thing that map..it does not include most of Mohave Co AZ or Las Vegas NV and most Clark co. I wonder why.

I personally know people in this area that were/are effected from radiation form those tests. One lady has had over 20 in her family that have had, or died, from cancers.

Matter of fact, on those same maps, they include where I grew up and as a youngster in school-NE WI, we were given potassium iodide pills. And told not to eat the snow because it had fallout in it...something us kids would do in the winter.

If true, then all they need to do is show the world.

And the world would help them there and everywhere else!

“the cancers and other potential health problems associated with radiation exposure might not develop until decades later.”

NOT likely. The whole “cancer” scare was OVERBLOWN in the aftermath of the “accident”.

For a perspective see this (and many other photos today)

First, I do not appreciate straw men.

Second, do you independently know for a fact that the chief safety engineer for the Chernobyl nuclear site is actually Valeriy Simyonov? Do you know for a fact that he held an interview? And if he did, do you know for a fact that he said “We told them not to do it, that it was dangerous, but they ignored us”? This is the New York Times here, and, being a major propaganda mouthpiece for the Deep State, they straight-up LIE. That is my issue here.

In this war we have already been subject to many false items - the Snake Island soldiers who were wiped out after telling the Russian warship to F themselves, the Ghost of Kiev who singlehandedly shot down a bunch of Russian fighters, etc. There is no reason to believe this story is any different.

The New York Times doesn’t report things because they want people to be aware of what is actually happening in the world, they report on things because they are trying to get people to believe certain things, including many falsehoods. (It is also why they don’t report on certain things, e.g. Hunter’s laptop.)
