This is absolutely true. Also those 4 million Ukrainian refugees were let in without a quibble by even the most anti-refugee countries, Poland and Hungary, etc.
All victims definitely arent created equal, to the societies with a genuine say in the matter. Kinship counts, similarity counts, and nothing will ever change that. If thats racism so be it.
If this is true, its awful - full stop.

This story above is believable to me, it’s also believable to me that both sides in this conflict would have a benefit in convincing the world of real or imagined atrocities to gain more support for their side.

That’s what I think and it makes sense. The hair that’s already “out there” would not, and could not, change. Maybe people refer to the new growth emerging being grey or white.
You basques better watch out. If a tyrannical spanish regime in the future wanted to wipe you out. No big daddy basques gonna come to your aid from outside. Take up Ukrainian language now while you have the chance. You’ll have no end of support. Don’t bother learning Serbian, or Hungarian. You’ll just get told you had it coming. In cases of extreme stress and trauma, it has happened. A medical doctor told me that a few years back. This type of situation would fit the level of stress my doctor described.
