Russia made considerably less money than forecast from oil and gas sales in March, suggesting that the Kremlin underestimated the impact of the Ukraine war.

Revenue from oil and gas sales in March was 302 billion rubles ($3.6 billion), or 38%, lower than Russia's finance ministry forecast on March 3, according to data from the ministry, published Tuesday.

Russia is a leading oil supplier and the world's top gas exporter, and Europe typically gets about 40% of its natural gas from Russia. However, European and other Western nations have been switching away from Russian supplies in the wake of the Ukraine invasion.

Russia says...

Why do we choose to believe anything Russia says?

Russia also says that they’re fighting in Ukraine to de-Nazify the country. Why don’t we believe them on that?

Russia may be hiding their true intake from oil sales, to make the west believe that they’re struggling in the hope that he west won’t impose any more sanctions or to have the sanctions removed.

Once Russian energy stops flowing across Ukraine, the sugar stops flowing to the thieving Uke oligarchs.

The neocons never mention that...

Has anyone done a calculation of how much more Americans are paying for gas, farmers are paying for fertilizer, and how much food prices have increased in the USA?

Yes, its painful “punishing Russia” - but its for your own good!

Isn’t this the wrong measurement? A bunch of economists at the finance ministry projected a number and it wasn’t hit. How often does such a thing happen with US Commerce dept for inflation, or for jobs, or for anything. Missing a forecast means . . . not much.

The correct measure is how much did Russia earn in Feburary from oil and gas, and compare that to March. Or seasonally, how much did they earn last March, and compare to March.

This is just more propaganda.

The average US gas price pre sanctions was $3.45, post sanctions $4.10. The US consumes 370 million gallons of finished gasoline daily (excludes all other uses of oil). 370 million x .65 x 31 = $7.45B. The American consumer took twice the hit Putin did in March in finished gasoline only. The sanctions stick continues to beat hell out of the US consumer. What the sanctions do to Putin has no bearing on my family.

But China reported that although they refused Putin’s request for military help they did sign contracts for oil and gas for substantially more than planned.

They are still sending tankers all over the world to anyone who will buy. The tankers operate STEALTH by turning off their required ID transmitters so they are not ID.’d.Just like an airplane goes stealthy with its ID off. They go to China, India, Africa and Europe among other places.
