According to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Monday, Elon Musk has been appointed to a seat on Twitter's board of directors.

The SEC filing states, "The Company will appoint Mr. Musk to the Company's Board of Directors ... to serve as a Class II director with a term expiring at the company's 2024 Annual Meeting of Stockholders."

The filing goes on to state that Musk is not allowed to purchase more than 14.9% of the company's common stock, limiting his ability to gain full controlling shares of the corporation.

Looking forward to working with Parag & Twitter board to make significant improvements to Twitter in coming months!

-- Elon Musk (@elonmusk) April 5, 2022

Elon Musk was officially appointed to the board seat in a letter filed with the SEC and signed by Twitter's CEO Parag Agrawal, who posted the announcement on his own Twitter on Tuesday morning.

"Class II director"

They made the African-American a second-class director.

Owning 10% of a company tends to do that.

So they can get Trump back on Twitter... then censor him again during the heat of the next election...

What does this say about Trump’s new social media venture? Their stock is headed for the crapper, I’m pretty disappointing about his failure to launch. There was a window of opportunity that has now been squandered. Even if they get back on track, it will take twice as long to build a customer database. IT will be difficult for TruthSocial to even survive at this point. Between this and Trumps rino endorsements, I’m starting to question his running for another term. Very disappointing all around.

Let it trend for all Twitter employees who are about to engage in one of the biggest hissy fits in Internet history: You work for Elon Musk now.

Elon Musk Joins Twitter's Board of Directors

One of two things can happen...

He becomes the leader of the site, and leads them towards becoming tolerant of all opinions, from all members.

Or...

He becomes like one of the already existing members of the board, and nothing changes. IOW, he gets corrupted by the left leaning owners/bosses/managers of the site.

He needs to own 51% of the company to have his way. Otherwise, I'm skeptical.

You don’t need 51% to control a company. There are many ways to influence and use indirect control through like minded shareholders, outside advisors, etc.

Yeah I was willing to wait and be patient on this but it's ridiculous. For pc's I can't even get anyplace to sign up. No registration screen. No information about WHEN you can register. NOthing.

Gosh you make it sound so awful...

Maybe Trump shouldn’t do it, huh?

and we should all just accept the ones we have...

That sounds so nice and easy

So they put him on the board to keep him from getting more than 15% of the common stock....

Will be interesting to see what happens...

Since I absolutely refuse to use any Apple products, I cannot yet use Truthsocial, since the app is not yet available for Android devices. I never used the Facebook app because I hated its limitations and control, but used the website facebook.com until I swore off of it 1 1/2 years ago. So why is the app available only for Apple devices?

That’s a MAJOR marketing foul up.

Seth Dillon (@SethDillon) · Twitter:

Musk reached out to us before he polled his followers about Twitter's commitment to free speech. He wanted to confirm that we had, in fact, been suspended. He even mused on that call that he might need to buy Twitter. Now he is the largest shareholder and has a seat on the board.

----------

As of right now this was posted 4 hours ago.

The pole Musk put out on his Twitter channel was: Do you want an edit button?
