And both sides are certainly in heavy fighting - at everyone - including citizens to make that happen.
People in the know are not surprised at how nasty and ugly things are on the ground and that this is exactly what could be expected with the nature of those fighting and certainly with all the various ethnic groups that have come from other countries. Heck even Africa’s sending fighters, anyone looking for a paycheck and willing to kill people.
Zelensky could have prvented it all - he agreed to - and then didn’t follow through on what he agreed on.

Putin wanted a demilitarized Ukraine - a Ukraine with no military to stop him slicing up the country piece by piece.
And you think that Ukraine would have accepted that? Not even the Russian speakers in the east wanted that
