We were told that in the 70's and I half believed them. The only problem back then was that there were so damn many of them. And at times, quantity defeats quality on the battlefield. I sometimes suspect that one reason the US has been focused on the quality end of the spectrum for weapons systems, is that it transfers more dollars to the military industrial complex. The expensive weapons produced do not always contribute much to America's defense, as evidenced by the Freedom-class LCS fiasco ...
