Your Americentric view is passe.
Europe in the form of the EU has the reason and is developing the courage to act. EU is in fact acting as we post. By assuming it is an American task indicates how backward you are in your thinking.
The oil consortium proposed is not all American. Only one American company was actually included. All the others are European

Shell and BP are UK companies and part of the historic Anglo-American duopoly on oil ever since it was determined that ships could sail farther, faster on oil than on coal around 1900.
The UK is not part of the EU.
It is safe to say that millions of Americans believe America's top priority should be America - the view is hardly "passe". And suggesting that a war in a backwater country where America has few or no vital interests is somehow of critical importance to the United States, is more than just slightly eccentric.

Indeed, if the war is a European problem, then let Europe deal with it. I have never suggested that helping one belligerent or harming the other was an "American task". In fact, America should not be providing billions of dollars in aid to Ukraine (if they want military hardware they can pay full price), or engaging in economic 'sanctions' that could potentially harm this country.

Perhaps you should reread my post; based on a long professional relationship with the oil & gas industry, I purposely referred to the companies as "multi-national corporations".

On the contrary, our current administration is more than capable of breaking the budget, harming real American interests in the name of political expediency, and sacrificing American taxpayers on the alter of kleptocratic globalism. And as a previous non-passe, non-Americentric president once noted, "Don't underestimate Joe's ability to fuck things up"...
