This will be the most stupid group ever

Yep, the exceptional students are still quite wonderful, but the average is dropping like a stone. I am constantly amazed by the depth of ignorance in virtually all subject. And their work ethic is pretty much non-existent.

The teachers I work with are quite aware of it and many are either choosing to retire early, or transfer to lower grades where they think the kids will be more manageable, or leave the field entirely. They ask me if I have noticed a difference since I retired 10 years ago and I have to tell them I have.

I work at a good school without many of the problems that occur in more urban settings, yet the downhill trend is there and unmistakeable.
