Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., on Friday tore into the Biden administration’s move to lift the Title 42 border policy at the end of May, calling it a "frightening decision" and warning that the extraordinary numbers will "only get worse" in the months ahead.
"Today’s announcement by the [Centers for Disease Control] and the Biden administration is a frightening decision," Manchin said in a statement.
The CDC announced that it will be lifting the Title 42 public health policy, that has been used by both the Trump and Biden administrations to quickly expel migrants at the southern border since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, on May 23.
"After considering current public health conditions and an increased availability of tools to fight COVID-19 (such as highly effective vaccines and therapeutics), the CDC Director has determined that an Order suspending the right to introduce migrants into the United States is no longer necessary," the Centers for Disease Control said in a statement earlier on Friday.

But he confirms Katanji Ubangi to the Supreme Court. This guy’s act is getting old.
Manchin may be a little frightened, but not enough to make him change parties.
I am getting sick of these Joe’s in office! Joe Manchin sold his soul to the devil when he became a Democrat… he will do what his masters tell him to do. The Democrat party wants to flood the country with illegal immigrants to collapse the system. Coward-Piven strategy. Joe’s in on the gig.
American citizen’s well being is inconsequential to Democcrats. NOTHING is more urgent to Democrats than importing illegal voters.
NOTHING is more urgent to Republicans than importing cheap labor.
Resident Biden’s response to every problem is to make it worse.
Manchin is owned by Deep State.
The smart ones know how to straddle the fence very... lucratively
What needs to happen is that, when republicans win back the house and senate, they should pass a bill that states that, whoever entered the country ILLEGALLY since Biden took office (and possibly even before that), WILL BE SENT BACK to where they came from.
By the time that the 2024 election occurs, we might have seen over 5 million illegals entering the country, not counting the ‘got-aways’. The got-aways could number another million or more by the time Biden is sent packing.
Same for Bush League Republicans like Amnesty Senators Rubio and Hoven,
Some trust Manchin...I don’t.
With the exception of a few, our side…

Even when they talk I don’t believe a thing the R’s say. Their words are meaningless.
He knows he doesn't have the time to make himself over as a Republican and run. He thinks his only shot is as a Democrat. He thinks he can duplicate what Slick did. Offer himself up as the reasonable moderate solution between the two right & left extremes much like Slick did in 1992. I know people that know him and that is what they tell me. If he fails Plan B is stay in the Senate and be Byrd II. WV's other senator Capito will give him competition in that!
I think he's delusional. This is NOT 1992 the political landscape is very different. Funny thing is the people who tell me about Manchin’s ambition think as I do. However its clear to me they make no effort to persuade him that it can't be down. I think they're afraid they'll make him mad and he'll turn off the pork gravy train to them.
typo
down = done
Obama & Biden are determined to destroy the USA.
I think he’s delusional.

I think you’re right. They’re all a bunch of shifty, egotistical miscreants.
It wouldn't weed out shifty, egotistical miscreants. There's plenty of those in state legislatures. However it would increase turnover so “damage” would be more contained. More importantly it brings us back to what the Founding Fathers envisions for the Senate. The states voice in federal domestic & government policy not just another essentially “at-large congresscriter”.
