I don’t think there’s a victory anywhere in this conflict - perhaps mission accomplished.

You’d fit in nicely with “the current thing”

Well Joe actually tells the truth once he’s off script - give him a minute off script and he’ll reveal it every time.

People with cognitive issues often can’t lie - rather they reveal things they wouldn’t ordinarily do.

I never paid attention to events in Ukraine until this war erupted. Digging into its history since their 1991 independence it’s odd that they had two “revolutions” afterwards, both of which look suspiciously like coups. The 2004 Orange Revolution and the 2014 Maidan revolution.

Soros, NGOs, and various American politicians like John McCain seem to have been more than idle observers of these “revolutions”. If any country was ever subjected to outside meddling in its elections Ukraine has to be near the top of the list.

McCain and Soros seem to have taken particular interest in Ukraine in 2013. After the 2014 Maidan revolution that booted out President Yanukovych, the incoming President, Poroshenko, quickly requests membership in NATO. I suspect that this isn’t a coincidence. Poroshenko is also the President who let VP Biden bully him into firing the prosecutor who was investigating Hunter Biden.

It looks to me like Poroshenko, and now Zelenskyy, have Western sponsors with great influence over their decisions. And those decisions likely haven’t been the best ones for the people of Ukraine.

Yes. I’ve worked with a few dementia patients and you are correct.

I think Joe is on his way out. His physical appearance alone tells us a lot.

Yep....I watched my sister progress in her cognitive issues - it takes too much mental focus to lie and sustain a lie for them to do so. That’s why when Biden goes off sript he’ll likely telling you what he’s really thinking and knows.

I guess at the end of the day we have to choose sides. There is no doubt that the US has wanted to put constant pressure on Russia. We seem to have a certain amount of paranoia about that country. Can we say that the Russian invasion is justified? I think it depends on your perspective. Seeing all these people killed or displaced gives me pause. I hope we learn something from this. And hope it ends soon.

“Can we say that the Russian invasion is justified?”

I don’t think it’s justified at all but I do think it is easy to understand and it was easy to predict.

Nigel Farage was warning back in 2014 that our meddling in Ukraine and acting like we were going to bring them into NATO was going to provoke Russia. The late Stephen Cohen, who was a pretty decent Russian analyst, was saying the same thing. So were some American military officers. It wasn’t a matter of approving of Russia it was simply understanding that they would see it as a threat and that they would push back.

The 2014 Maidan “revolution” was a coup that overthrew the friendly to Russia Yanukovych government. Poroshenko replaced Yanukovych and one of his first acts was to request NATO membership. Zelenskyy repeated the request when he took office.

John McCain, western NGOs, and George Soros appear to have been stoking this in 2013, encouraging the Maidan coup. Poroshenko and Zelenskyy may well have sponsors in western governments who are more interested in pressuring Russia than in doing what is best for the average Ukrainian.
