Spring has come to south-west Ukraine, time for Alexander Petkov to start sowing his fields. But the war with Russia has had dire consequences for his ability to plant his crops - as well as for the wider world's food supply.

I don’t understand what is keeping the farmers from planting. From the maps, most of Ukraine is unoccupied and outside the war zone. It’s not like the Russian helicopters are shooting at them on the ground. If it’s a fuel shortage because of the war, or a manpower shortage, I get that, but otherwise it doesn’t make any sense to me.
