Insanity. And they will be shocked and deeply disturbed when the traffic deaths reach a new high. That’s the only “high” us normal folks will realize. Thank you Democrats for promoting death once again.

"It would also impose a federal tax on marijuana sales to fund programs to help communities negatively impacted by the war on drugs."

Fentanyl and Meth are destroying families and communities all across America and the libs are going to tax marijuana to give to the, "negatively impacted by the war on drugs"?!
Taxes and vote buying is their only concern.

Negatively impacted by the war on drugs? You mean like drug dealers who have suffered a loss of income from being raided?

What’s next, heroin and cocaine? Probably. Looks like I just answered my own question.

Conservatives don’t like big government, except when it suits their beliefs.

It never should have happened in the first place.

And it's considered a gateway drug.

For the children, right?

“they will be shocked and deeply disturbed when the traffic deaths reach a new high.”

That will give them another reason to attack the automobile.

.Gov creates problems that are so bad that people beg .gov to fix them.

There’s federal revenue in them there weeds.

I predict a lot of male and ballots are going to need to be “repaired” in the elections after that is signed. I wonder if food stamps will be accepted at the dispensaries.

From what I'm reading...the pushers are ruining that little market...kinda like cigarettes with them big fat taxes.

The government created a black market. LOL

Every single Leftertarian argument to legalize pot can be applied just as validly to any other recreational drug.

“People are doing it anyway, you can get “____” on the streets easily.”

“Kids are doing “___” anyway. Nothing will change.”

“People should have bodily autonomy to put anything they want in it. Just punish the externalities that happen to be criminal.”

“legalize and tax it. It will make a great government revenue stream.”

...communities negatively impacted by the war on drugs...

These people live in an alternate reality. What about people negatively impacted by the drugs themselves?

“It would also impose a federal tax on marijuana sales to fund programs to help communities negatively impacted by the war on drugs.”

The first part of the statement is the 100% main purpose of the bill - something else the Dims can tax. The second part - “programs to help communities negatively impacted by the war on drugs” will (a) NOT (NEVER) receive the bulk the new cannabis taxes and (b) neever succeed in their stated mission yet (c) never quit being funded no matter how wasteful and unsuccessful. To Dims, none of their programs have been touted, even by them, for any great achievement, just for how much money the Dims promise to spend for them.

What muddies the waters is that when Democrats legalize something they pile on a mountain of regulations and taxes.

I smoke “illegal” Cuban cigars—no regulation, no taxes.

(Some even came from Russia by mail order. :-) )

If they were legal they would cost a fortune.
