I find it odd that:

I can only suggest look at the direction. We are slowly moving to honoring our heritage but it is slow. There are many signs.
It is a slow process. eyes to see and ears to hear.
and do everything you can to help the process along. Know our heritage in detail. We can not give what we do not have...................
ANYTHING: white, European, Christian, male, heterosexual, capitalist, or that has a hint of American exceptionalism is attacked.
Your kids are basically taught in school/college that critical thinking is attacking these. But dare not question or apply a value judgment to anything outside of those, because that would be “racist, ethnocentric, sexist/misogynistic, homophobic, or oppressive.”
That is the result of a Communist psyop that arguably started about 90 years ago. Frankfurt school. Hitler ran them out of Germany immediately upon taking power, and they landed at Columbia, which has been one of the core institutions subverting the country ever since.
