Two soldiers have been rescued after a V-22 Navy Osprey - - Tilt Rotor crashed off the Virginia coast on Wednesday night
- One person is still said to be missing following the chopper crash
- The plane crashed north of the Chincoteague Causeway just off of Wildcat Point near the Maryland state line shortly after 7:30pm on Wednesday evening
- The Virginia Coast Guard dispatched rescue boats and a rescue helicopter together with a police helicopter from Maryland

I’ll give the Daily mail a pass...though they should know better as I think the USMC was modeled after England’s Royal Marines.

The aircraft it replaced, the CH-46, has a worse record. The Osprey actually kills less Marines per flight hour.
That said, expect more crashes - not just of the Osprey but a lot of military aircraft as ‘tolerance and diversity’ becomes more important than aptitude for doing the actual job.
Will the Daily Mail ever learn the difference between Marines and Soldiers? Show a little respect.

Oduma didn’t know the how to pronounce Corpsman. He called them corpse man. Navy corpsman hiked the jungles of Vietnam with US Marines. If they don’t know how to get it right they should STFU.
This one looks like wind shear, these aircraft are more venerable to these.
They need to come up with a safety guideline for wind shear flight.
It is advertised as an all weather aircraft, but the list of weather caveats keeps growing. We should get a partial refund for all these aircraft.
That would be Marine, or Sailor if it’s a Navy Osprey.
Soldiers are Army folks.
Basic understanding of our military is lost on the press, it seems.
Tell that to the families of the missing.
I wouldn’t have even set these planes flying till their flight characteristics were completely profiles. Some of the officer core and civilian administrators deserve prison.
Ain’t gonna happen, and the kids car won’t be drove by the kid again. Dead is dead. They won’t be back.

Donald Rumsfeld, SecDef under Bush (who died last year), spurned the Osprey. He was especially vocal after an Osprey crash killed 27 Marines.
You've got the name wrong. It's called the "Diversity Equity and Inclusion" program. We prefer "Diversity Inclusion and Equity", the military's DIE Program. It fits better.
....were there TWO aircraft crashes off the Virginia coast..?this is an article from the New York Post....no mention of any kind of Osprey....they reference and E2-D Hawkeye...

One crewmember is confirmed deceased and two others were rescued......
