I have had to have a variety of blood tests. Some are kinds rarely drawn. Some require special handling in the draw.
I make it my business to know ahead of time what they are suppose to do. I lie and say my Dr told me this would require special handling (they are clueless) so that I can attempt to get it right.
I have seen all kinds of things done that shouldnt be done.
And I lie about the tourniquet. If I know that one is suppose to be drawn without it I will just say I have had a problem in the past so can you try it without.
If I don’t lie and attempt to tell them how it is suppose to be drawn I get some really bad sticks!
easier just to lie...and of course blame it on the Dr saying he told me to tell you...lolol
btw, there are some blood tests that require no light to the blood. Be aware if you are getting that kind. Many don’t know and if the computer doesn’t have an alert it may not get done right.
