Every time I read about how "woke" Disney has become I get sad. They used to be the epitome of traditional family values and "wholesomeness". I keep wondering why it lost its way. Is it more LBVGOUY whatever types moving up through the ranks, or just wanting more dollars?

I also wonder how many good decent families have quit Disney because of them catering to such a small percentage of the population.

“...I also wonder how many good decent families have quit Disney...” Not enough as far as I’m concerned. And trying to make some folks understand that dizzknee is NOT your friend mostly falls on deaf ears. When we lived in FL and folks would come visit we would give them directions to get to dizzknee world and tell them to have a good time. We quit them a very long time ago.

Correction - they had a carefully cultivated image of traditional family values, one Walt rabidly defended - but that’s all it ever was, an image. There was no reality behind it; Disney resorted to totalitarian measures and strong arm tactics to get what they wanted, even when Walt was running the place.

Locals in CA knew all about it long before there was a Disneyworld in Florida. Parse the lyrics of this 1982 song and you might get an inkling as to just what Disney’s image has been hiding. https://youtu.be/d4Gz_E5HOSs

Sorry, but the Disney you thought you knew never existed.
