When I was a kid, “ethnomathmatics” and “herstory” were punchlines to a heck of a lot of good jokes.

Ebonics all began in San Fransisco 20 years ago.
It was rejected even by SF residents.
Time for Iowa to take back their state.

I believe it’s pronounced “maff.” Or maybe, “maph,” since it all be Greek.

“They need to be able to teach students the math they need to know to pursue and succeed in the future whether in higher ed and/or career paths that require that knowledge.”"So, since our teachers never passed math, we can't expect them to teach it. Instead of jobs in engineering, architecture or medicine, we will prepare our children to be baristas or community activists."

I thought math was racist and had to stop being taught altogether.
Black people can't pass math tests = racism.

So does TWISTED MATH.
I have done accounting since I was 17-hired out of high school by Kroger Divisional office.
At 82, still doing accounting, have ONE client still—have done his books for 52 years.
NO person with a bank account/a mortgage/a car payment can do TWISTED MATH.
NO business with Accounts payable/Accounts receivable/ payroll/ rent to pay can operate with TWISTED MATH.
Bad enough that kids are poorly prepared for going out on their own today. This will only confuse them further.
EVERY TAXPAYING member of that school district should join a class action suit against the board & teachers.

Maybe Iowa is thinking of the new quantum math where 2 + 2 = 4...and 2 + 2 = 5 at the same time if you observe it.
To: Mr. Mojo
“Ethnomathematics: The Study of Math as a Cultural Activity,” is the name of the teacher training session
for education majors who can't do math"
Fixed it.

Iowa? You’d think they’d be more interested in teaching cornhole than herstory..

In any red state you get pockets of liberalism, often concurrent with colleges and universities. Austin Texas as an example.
