“God given right” See...that’s the problem. Half the country does not believe in God.

The Founders called these rights God-given or ‘natural’ rights. If one doesn’t believe in God, the rights still exist because they are natural. A rabbit being attacked has a natural right to defend itself. So do humans.

As an aside, I live two miles from Illinois (as the crow flies). As a citizen of Missouri I have more gun rights in Illinois than residents of that state. I can buy ammunition and long guns in Illinois without a FOID card, they cannot.
