You have to pay a transfer fee, I’ll bet.
I have not bought a firearm out of state, so I have no personal knowledge as to how this works, but as I understand it, long arms can be sold to out of state residents if the state’s laws allow it. No need to transfer the sale my home state. Private sales may require dealing with a dealer and fees. Handguns are a whole different matter.
