Russian missiles in Ukraine have failure rate of up to 60% - US officials
The Jerusalem Post ^ | MARCH 25, 2022 | Reuters

Posted on 03/25/2022 4:06:01 AM PDT by tlozo

Russian precision-guided missiles are failing up to 60% of the time in Ukraine, three US officials with knowledge of intelligence on the issue told Reuters, a possible explanation for the poor progress of Russia's invasion.

Since President Vladimir Putin ordered the invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24, Russia has failed to achieve basic objectives such as neutralizing Ukraine's air force despite a vastly larger armed forces.

The US officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the information, did not provide evidence to support the assessment and did not disclose what precisely was driving high Russian missile failure rates.

Though Reuters could not determine what a standard failure rate would be for air-launched cruise missiles, two experts interviewed by Reuters said any failure rate of 20% and above would be considered high.

The Kremlin says that what it calls a "special military operation" is going to plan and that Russia will achieve all of its aims. It casts the United States as an "empire of lies" which has unleashed an information war on Russia...

In recent days, Russia's defense ministry has lauded the professionalism and missile technology of the armed forces. It says claims of failures are misleading propaganda distributed by Russia's enemies headed by the United States.

MISSILE FAILURES

US defense officials told reporters this week that the Pentagon assesses that Russia has launched more than 1,100 missiles of all kinds since the war began...

Citing US intelligence, three US officials said the United States estimated that Russia's failure rate varied day-to-day, depended on the type of missile being launched, and could sometimes exceed 50%. Two of them said it reached as high as 60%...

And you do know the U.S. is in bed with some of the most repressive petro-dictatorships on the planet, has been for a long time, and this why we need energy independence.

You and others are still not answering why we can’t go the route of supportimg neither Russia nor Ukraine, making sure there are plenty of European troops in Eastern Europe to stop Putin as this is their problem and the southern border is the problem of the U.S., or do like warmongering and unending military interventionism that much?

—”How does that help you with the gazillion of instances where nothing beyond anonymous sources is ever given?”

NB: You, me, most of the internet is comprised of anonymous sources.

And you are of a higher order of the anonymous sources?

How does that work?

How about because Russia invaded another country that posed absolutely no threat to them. Nobody is putting American feet on the ground, so what’s the concern? You know as well as I the threat of retaliation kept Putin out of Ukraine during the Trump years. Were Russia opposed as it attempts to rape and pillage Ukraine, what would be next on Putin’s agenda? NATO members Lithuania, Estonia and/or Latvia?

No argument there.

“why you need to learn to think beyond either/or and think neither/nor”

Interesting words, considering the Putin pals here think it’s impossible to be conservative and support the victim of Russia’s aggression. This is not a binary choice.

YOU would learn something by sitting down and having a long talk with someone who has had to live under that Russian jackboot. It’s open your eyes.

How it works is when you, I, or anyone else want to provide proof when citing news articles the “news” articles actually have something beyond the game the MSM plays with “anonymous sources” as it’s past old.

That is why I said what I said earlier to another person; I’m tired of anonymous sources.

I don’t support Russia invading, it was wrong, but I also know that people all over India, the ME, etc, can be seen saying “Iraq”, “Libya,” etc, online on YouTube and elsewhere in response to your first point.

Secondly, can you say incrementalism?

Third, we are being invaded on the southern border and it’s time for a unified European military’s to deal with Europe’s problems.

You generally get this stuff whenever India is doing a 10s of billion dollar size weapons buy. They have a $30ishB pending buy of fighter aircraft as of . . . I think November.

They made a choice in February and bought 7 Sukhois. Lockheed and Boeing rage, but unlike the US where contracts can be held up for a decade in court, India’s military makes their decision and Lockheed is helpless.

They have inferior products compared to Sukhoi.

So whenever you see an explosion of stories trashing Russian hardware, remember it’s all part of Lockheed/Boeing/Northrup advertising budget.

“It’s time for you to align with the conservative position:”

Yup. It’s time for conservatives to support the Ukrainian people as they fight the scumbag Russian invaders!

Mark Levin isn’t as conservative though as others like Tucker Carlson and Paul Joseph Watson. They are further right than Levin although Levin is right on almost all of tje issues.

Again, getting involved in Ukraine helps Soros, the WEF, and the Biden administration. Why would you help them?

Secondly, again, this isn’t an either/or moment in history but rather a neither/nor moment, and the conservative position is to be neither for Putin nor for Zelenskyy.

Putin is brutal and we know that but on the pro-Zelenskyy side are Soros, the WEF, Biden, the Establishment Bush Bots, Obama Bots, McCainiace, Neocons, etc, along with the degenerates pumping filth from Western Europe into Eastern Europe, the Russia! Russia! Russia! types who fed us propaganda for 6 years that dummies bought into, etc. You don’t want to be on their side or on Putin’s.

Best place to be is to for the U.S. to stay out of this, not prop the Biden presidency up, and push a united Europe to grow up and deal with their own turf as it’s long past due.

Lastly, again, Both Putin and Zelenskky are corrupt, both have used heavy hands on the media in their countries and with a broad brush while doing so, both are autocrats, Ukraine was hardly a good example of a democracy, biolabs were in Ukraine, the WEF, Soros, etc, all support Zelensky, Ukraine was a slush fund for Hunter Biden and the big guy, and Putin isn’t going to use nukes as it’s the end of everyone then.

So the only place left for true conservatives is to be for neither side and that happens sometimes in history.

I just see Russia gobbling up territory week after week and Zelenskyy begging for help on a daily basis. This war is already over. But yeah, there were some duds.

“Again, getting involved in Ukraine helps Soros, the WEF, and the Biden administration. Why would you help them?”

Helping the Ukrainians might coincide with the agendas of other people but the point is to help the Ukrainians keep the thieving Russian murderers and rapists out of their country.

If we don’t help the Ukrainians stop the scumbag Russians then we’ll have the Russians directly threatening Poland and NATO will be forced to mobilize to meet the threat. As it is we’re mobilizing because the idiot Russians keep threatening a nuclear war tantrum unless their spoiled brat leader has his way.

Keep dreaming. Russia isn’t a match for NATO and I imagine Putin knows they NATO is stronger.

Ukraine isn’t a member of NATO, it isn’t our job to protect their borders, you should be concerned with protecting America’s borders, we aren’t world policeman, and enough with being involved in one war after another, plus we are over $30 trillion in debt and broke.

Incrementalism? No, not as long as we keep it to getting weapons in to the defenders, as Reagan did vis-a-vis the Soviets in Afghanistan….not that Biden is in any way worthy of the comparison.

Given Obama/Biden’s warmongering in Syria, Yemen, Libya, etc, I don’t trust Biden.
