Russia says sending international peacekeepers to Ukraine would be ‘very reckless’

(Reuters) -Russia on Wednesday condemned what it called a “reckless” Polish proposal to send international peacekeepers into Ukraine and warned that it could lead to a direct clash between Russian and NATO forces.

Poland said last Friday it would formally submit a proposal for a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine at the next NATO summit.

Asked about the initiative, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said: “It would be a very reckless and extremely dangerous decision.”

He told reporters on a conference call that any possible contact between Russian and NATO forces “could have clear consequences that would be hard to repair”.

Russia sent tens of thousands of troops into Ukraine on Feb. 24 in what it called a special operation to degrade its southern neighbour’s military capabilities and root out people it called dangerous nationalists.

Ukrainian forces have mounted stiff resistance and the West has imposed sweeping sanctions on Russia in an effort to force it to withdraw its forces.

Well, Russia send some “peacekeepers” there.
I guess it was restless.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said: “It would be a very reckless and extremely dangerous decision.”

In that case, probably better to send the U.N. peacekeepers.

That’s a Polish plot to annex Galicia. The US told Poland to go pound sand.

Invading a neighboring country without provocation is reckless. Pound sand, Vlad.

I’d bet Puto would agree if the ‘peacekeepers’ were from China, NK, and Libya.

Why would the innocent peaceful Russians attack international peacekeepers?

And why would Russia object to Poland annexing something that used to belong to Poland anyway? Isn’t that Russia’s argument for stealing Crimea?

It is wise to start planning for what will be needed after peace finally breaks out.

Peacekeepers along some new front lines seems likely.

According to the Budapest Agreement, Russia is clearly in violation by invading, so the agreement invites the UN and the US and Ireland and Britain to get involved.

Of course, my preferred form of involvement is to help Build Back Better their nukes, since the agreement is null and void.

1. The Russian Federation, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the United States of America reaffirm their commitment to Ukraine, in accordance with the principles of the Final Act of the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe, to respect the independence and sovereignty and the existing borders of Ukraine;

2. The Russian Federation, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the United States of America reaffirm their obligation to refrain from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or

political independence of Ukraine, and that none of their weapons will ever be used against Ukraine except in self-defence or otherwise in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations;

NATO needs to tell Putin to cease now or else. Then no warning drop a big bad bomb on The Kremlin to get their attention.

This is how you deal with a bully.

I personally don’t care, but this move is unlikely to have the support of local Ukrainians. They won’t vote for it, unlike Crimea. On the bright side, it is going to produce a casus belli to spant Poland militarily.

And what do you think Russia's reply would be? "Oh, we're sorry. Please forgive us. Thank you for showing us the error of our ways."
