Vladimir Putin's Russian Army has lost another commander - the 15th of Putin's top military leaders to be killed as the country's invasion of Ukraine heads into its second month.
Colonel Alexei Sharov became the latest high-ranking Russian official to die in what has become the country's biggest loss of military higher-ups since World War II. His death was announced by Ukrainian armed forces on social media Tuesday.
The commander of the 810th Guards Separate Order of Zhukov Brigade in the Russian Marines, Sharov was reportedly killed in Mariupol, a city in which over 100,000 people have been trapped amid a siege by the invading Russians.

Gee...that’s a shame.
Another Hero of The Soviet Union.
The ukes arent doing this on their own
US sigint is showing the way to these VIP targets. Reminds me of when we knew when to bomb Khadafy’s tent by homing in on sigint from his phone.
They’re doing a bang up job on their own apparently. Looks like they don’t need America’s help after all! 😀
Please tell me that the Russians and/or the world community are not going to let Putin survive all this. He needs to be executed or locked up for life.
It’s payback time for the Russians crafting Iranian IEDs for use against us in Iraq.
Shhh, that’s the quiet part you’re not supposed to say out loud.
This is an interesting gauge of resistance, the number of “top” commanders killed. But then where’s the definition of “top” commanders?
Isn’t that first guy a Navy Captain or a Navy Senior Captain? I’m pretty sure I see anchors on his uniform and some of the others as well. According to Alec Baldwin in Red October the Russians use Admiral, Captain, Commander like we do. Not sure why a sailor would be getting killed in what is for the most part all an all land and air war.
At this rate there will be no one left to remove him.
(maybe that’s the plan?)
He was part of the Russian marine landing west of Mariupol from one of the Russian landing ships in the Azov Sea.
The Brits are flying an airplane crammed with people and stuff finding command posts and pin pointing commanders. There is a video showing the operations. There are numerous confirmations of the plane’s existence
I will guess the Brits are supplying a more effective weapon than shells and rockets and bombs
I wonder if this is a case of sigint. This is Mariupol, cut off a hundred km behind the lines. Presumably also short of ammo for precision weapons systems, if any are still working after more than four weeks under bombardment. The problems of comms, targeting and weapons make that seem unlikely.
The Russians have committed the Black Sea Marines to Mariupol, so it seems more likely that this was another case of leading from the front, to get some lagging assault moving.
The Ukrainians have fought superbly at Mariupol.
I’m sure we could afford to send over some WOKE personal to replace those they lost.
