That it does. I’m careful to only use black powder in it.

So, I wondered what happened to the old M1A1 tanks. Then I saw a documentary on TV that showed the process.

Tanks stripped to hull only.
Hull lifted and placed in multistory building and bead blasted.
Repainted
Entire tank rebuilt with refurbished or new parts including turret rings.
Upgraded computers and electronics
Then refurbished turret with new gun installed.

Roles off new M1A3. So, basically no M1A1 left after refurbished.

U.S. soldiers don’t have what it takes to take on Russian soldiers in a ground war these days, but our airmen are great from a distance ...I don’t want any of our soldiers hurt anyways so best they stay home on this one.

Thought they decided against the A3 designation as there are none in service with that designation. Maybe it was an old video.

Wiki FWIW:
The M1A3 Abrams was in the early design period with the U.S. Army in 2009. At that time, the service was seeking a lighter tank version with the same protection as current versions. It aimed to build prototypes by 2014 and begin fielding the first combat-ready M1A3s by 2017. In March 2017, it was reported that the new version, the M1A2 SEP v4, is to begin testing in 2021. M1A3 was left on DOD budget cutting floor.

The government couldn’t even give them away in the early 1900s...some were dumped in the Atlantic Ocean by the Army in the late 1930s, just to get rid of ‘em.
