Have a couple of cousins who have them. Both big libs.
One was waxing lyrical at a family party at how he loved the “hands free driving”. 🙄🤪
I would never trust anything like that.
The “driverless car” technology has the potential to be great for old folks who should not be driving but need to get around....
Hopefully it will be ready for prime time when we get to that point.
Of course that technology could be gas powered or electric—really a separate issue.
The only way I would ever see doing it would be just for an instant while I picked up something I dropped or looked for my clip-on shades or something in the glove compartment. Otherwise it sounds very dangerous.
My car has hands free driving capability. I would never trust it. Only tried it once on a highway, and it scared me as it drifted between the lane markers. Nope, keeping my hands on the steering wheel and paying attention to everything while driving.
REAL LIFE IS NOT “HANDS FREE”.
