The Securities and Exchange Commission plans to raise the bar on companies and fund managers claiming to be environmentally friendly or sustainable with the release next week of its landmark climate-disclosure rule.
The proposed rule would require all U.S. publicly traded companies to disclose data on how climate-change risk could affect their businesses. Also there is now heightened scrutiny of greenwashing—when companies provide misleading information about how their products are more environmentally sound, or when funds deceptively claim to be sustainable.
Investors are clamoring for more information about risks associated with sustainable investing—often referred to as ESG, for the environmental, social, and corporate governance criteria used to evaluate companies—and demanding more accountability from companies beyond their core businesses.

Most, aside from the leftists, don’t give a hoot about this ESG nonsense that’s been hoisted upon us by the leftist democrats. Where are the republicans pushing back on this back door green new deal crap? Soon, all oil, gas and fossil fuel companies, as well as those that don’t kow- tow to the left will be driven out of business if we let the SEC enforce this nonsense. Silence as usual from our side. Cutting the sec’s budget or inserting a rider preventing any funds be used for the enforcement of this crap would have been nice in that monstrous budget they just passed. Another reason to hate RINOs and the fake Republican Party leadership.
