Dozens were reportedly killed Friday in Ukraine's south after Russians shelled a Ukrainian army barracks in Mykolaiv.
Rescuers were still searching for survivors in the barracks Saturday. The site housed Ukrainian soldiers who were training to defend the city.
At least 45 people were killed in the attack, according to BBC News, although the death toll may rise. Reports showed at least one survivor being pulled from the rubble.
The Russians launched two missiles at the barracks, the BBC reported.

Not a safe place to spend the night.
Wonder if hypersonic.
No defense against it.
Should have been in a theater.
No, wait.
I wouldn’t want to sleep next to any other soldier in Ukraine, if I was there, I would want everyone in my unit grid out with a 50 yard spacing outside so if targeted, not everyone is going to die and the enemy will likely not waste expensive ammo.
The last place I would want to sleep in, an enclosed barracks.
I imagine they had eyes on this barracks waiting for a kill concentration.
I hope this is avoided going forward.
Dozens of soldiers were killed, Russia bombed a Ukrainian military barracks, in Mykolaiv.

Heh!
Reminds me of the marines in Beruit 1983. Security guards armed but no ammo. No barricades to keep an explosive laden vehicle from crashing into the lobby. 241 killed. In the meantime the supervisors on the ground are paying attention to their bosses far away rather than the safety of their men.
Damn, the first Ukrainian soldiers killed since the Snake Island martyrs.
Remember it well.
Wait a minute. This is the first mention of Ukrainian military casualties in 15 days of war. Their perfect record has finally been broken.
Combat deaths:
Russians: 15,000 (One thousand per day!)
Ukrainans: 45
Jack Posobiec:
Russia just hit another barracks. This time in Mykolaiv. Pictures coming out are brutal.
Pro-tip: If you head overseas to volunteer for a foreign country that is in a war with another country armed with ballistic and cruise missiles, you don’t want to sleep in barracks. Avoid the barracks.
That’s why the Russians took the cell phones away from their troops.
Not hypersonic, regular Calibr.
And the losses appear to be hundreds, not dozens.
—
PS. They did use hypersonic against ammo depot in the Western Ukraine -— but that was warranted, a fortified target, largely underground.
funny, I have seen hundreds of them dying on video. They are taking losses but it is true they were giving more than they were taking, so Russia is evening it up by killing civilians.
And know more than “1st Person Shooter Games.”
Seems like a lot of stupid Redditors went there for “cred”.
SMH.
In War—a Barracks is a valid target. When citizens are armed—they too become targets. War is Hell! This is why we shouldn’t do them unless forced. This one could have been avoided. Ukraine had false hope the USA and NATO would protect them from big bad Russia and Hitler-Putin. They were wrong. Remember Hungary in the 1950s? They thought we would help too—they too were wrong.
Didn’t happen. Just propaganda.
