Anthony Fauci hinted, in an ABC News podcast Friday, that he might not have to be carried out of the National Institutes of Health in a pine box. At 81, the mendacious midget should carefully consider whether he should buy green bananas, let alone work too much longer. Yet Dr. Fauci is not acting like someone ready to exit the scene.
He has appeared on ABC, PBS, and CNN in the last few days. It seems he was making the rounds to talk about the BA.2 variant, a more transmissible strain of omicron. It’s not a good sign that the administration sent Fauci as their ambassador to the masses again. He always paints the most discouraging picture of the future and recommends most severe measures, then the CDC recommendations generally follow his public statements more than scientific data.
As Matt noted, Fauci talked out of both sides of his mouth when he hinted at retiring; he also did this when discussing the new variant. According to ABC:
“I would not be surprised if in the next few weeks we see somewhat of either a flattening of our diminution or maybe even an increase,” Fauci told ABC News’ Brad Mielke on the podcast “Start Here.”
His prediction is based on conversations with colleagues in the U.K., which is currently seeing a “blip” in cases, Fauci said.
The pandemic trajectory in the U.S. has often followed the U.K. by about three weeks.
However, he added, “Their intensive care bed usage is not going up, which means they’re not seeing a blip up of severe disease.”
Despite the lack of evidence for severe illness with the new variant, Dr. Fauci warned of waning immunity and echoed CDC Director Rochelle Walensky’s assertion that elderly Americans would need a second booster in the coming weeks.

Notice, Fauci continued to evade discussion of what we know about immunity from prior infection and its ability to prevent severe disease. He also acted as if the FDA never granted emergency use authorization to new outpatient treatments.
While he conceded the country is in a period of declining cases and deaths but cautioned we generally follow the pattern of the U.K. a few weeks later. He predicted the U.S. would see an uptick in “cases” — a meaningless metric for managing public health.
When Fauci says “cases” he means positive tests, whether the person is symptomatic or not. This includes compulsory testing of all hospital patients regardless of admission reason.
In the U.K., there has been no return of mitigation measures. There has been no “snap back” amid rising cases with the BA.2 variant. Fauci never explains why Americans should expect a different result if positive tests rise here.

Republicans have decided not to run on a platform for the mid-term elections of 2020. They are running on a theme; “Things are bad. Elect us and we’ll do better.” No specifics, that way they can’t be held to any promises. It is the historical RINO campaign strategy, not the 1994 “Contract for America” that gave the GOP control of the House of Representatives for the first time in decades.
Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy are calling the shots for this campaign cycle and will be the leaders in Congress if the GOP captures the majority. If they run on the “we are better than the bad people in power” theme, they will owe Republican voters nothing. It would be nice to know what Mitch, Kevin and Republican candidates are promising the big donors financing their campaigns behind closed doors. It is highly doubtful the big donors have been promised a MAGA agenda.
No one who is addicted to power and the abuse of power retires while they can still draw a breath.
The BA.2 is referred to as the stealth variant. Viral evolution continues to track right down what is expected. More virulent and less dangerous. I agree that the media and Fauci are conflating cases with positive tests. While the press reports it is not determined if this sub-variant is more or less dangerous all one has to do is believe one’s own eyes. There is not an increase in hospitalizations despite more widespread infection. This, we can safely observe that the variant is not more dangerous. While the absolute number of hospitalizations may rise some, as a proportion of the infected it remains lower.
It’s over. We need to stop testing. We need to understand that pandemics run the course in two years. It is endemic and evolved to something that is not particularly dangerous except to those with risks. We now have oral therapies and we can pull a plug on all the hand wringing. On both sides.

I believe we’re all born with a “human card”, but that can be lost by acting in subhuman ways - Fauci lost his human card a long time ago.

There is only one important fact about Anthony Fauci and that is, according to a sitting US Senator, that Fauci illegally funded gain of function research at the Wuhan lab in China that, accidentally or purposely, spread throughout the world and killed multiple millions of people. For that he should pay a price.

I also believe they are working on repackaging, re-messaging climate change using similar techniques and themes that were so successful in the scam-demic. After all, eventually everyone will have gotten vaxxed/boosted 8 or 10 times and or had covid, and or just not give a damn anymore. The survivors won't listen to any more "temporary" state of emergency BS. But climate change - that scam is never ending because weather is going to be weather, and it is highly variable. That is a "crisis" they could ride for years, decades even. They could reshape the world in their sick image of fascist power and control over every aspect of our lives.
