All good and well, however the Ukie losses are conveniently never mentioned. If you have the ability to read Russian, pull up the many Russian articles written ( outside of Russia) and you will see a vastly different story. Vlad is winning, not by western standards, but the standards of war.

If it’s really just propaganda, the Russians should have a devastating denial very soon. Do you think they will?
The Russian communications equipment is assumed to have failed. The Ukrainians announced that a general made a phone call on an open line. The Ukrainians used the GPS location of the call to target the caller. If this is what happened, first, they shouldn’t have revealed how it was done. The Russians will revert to smoke signals. Second, it means the Russian military equipment has really deteriorated. (Now it could have been that the equipment didn’t get the encryption code of the day and thus wouldn’t work.)
An earlier death was announced over the open channel radio by a soldier telling his buddy the general had just been killed. Apparently, a lot of soldiers were not aware they were not on an exercise and were just taken prisoner because they walked up to the Ukrainians to ask directions. But that was on day one. The overall tone of the operation is like a Buster Keaton movie. (Yes, I’m dating myself. But I only do that because I know I’m easy.)

Russians seem to often be an actual rank lower for the size of the formation though. They have some colonels commanding divisions.

Ukraine is getting flattened by every standard. No calls for negotiations, just war, war war…by Zelensky and the west. The Ukrainian people are suffering for the fraud of a leader, Zelensky.

Know where they’re going——then just aim for the hat. I guess if a sharp shooter spots a big hat he knows he’s got a good shot?
Is it possible these high ranking officers are being eliminated by Putin. Indirectly of course. For doing such a poor job?
Best way to figure progress is who is indisputably where on the map, and actual confirmed losses vs known assets.
In terms of manpower the Ukes can suffer heavier casualties than the Russians, if that is the case (which neither of us know to be the case), because Ukraine has many more replacements close to hand.
