The DeSantis Doctrine
Town Hall ^ | 17 Mar 2022 | Kurt Schlichter

Posted on 03/18/2022 7:00:41 AM PDT by Rummyfan

You gotta hand it to a guy who convinces Democrats to die on the hill of defending perverted groomers talking about sex with little school kids. It's on-brand for their fellow travelers at The Lincoln Project, but you would think that Democrats actually want to win elections. But no – they want to make the schools safe for pedos, and they don't care who knows it. But they'll care plenty in November when parents around the country come out and vote for The Party of Not Hitting on Der Kinder.

Donald Trump has his record of achievement – economic success and peace abroad. But Ron DeSantis has the DeSantis Doctrine, sort of like the Monroe Doctrine, except instead of keeping shady foreigners out of our hemisphere, the DeSantis Doctrine keeps woke fascists out of our lives.

It was DeSantis who started the fire that burned the pyre of Democrat hopes and dreams they jumped onto in their campaign against the Florida anti-grooming statute. But that's only his latest fight with the elite. DeSantis has been laying down the law in Florida, literally, and in a way even Donald Trump never did. At some level, Donald Trump still has some residual respect for the trappings of the elite. He's impressed by name universities and huge corporations, and for all his much-justified complaining, he still cavorts with institutions that hate him, like the NYT. He's not yet completely done with the institutions, but DeSantis is. DeSantis is all honey badger, laying waste and making the rubble bounce.

DeSantis certainly stands out as an unapologetic conservative amid a party of I’m-sorta-kinda-middle-of-the-road-conservatives.

Schlichter can always be counted on to turn a great phrase: “DeSantis is all honey badger, laying waste and making the rubble bounce.”

If not DeSantis in 2024, then Trump/DeSantis. 12 years to undo the damage heaped upon us.

Deep State doesn’t care because Deep State doesn’t need to win elections.

I remember when giving his first CPAC speech after the election steal President Trump said his pollsters and advisors told him not to talk about this issue. Then again Rhonna and RNC had lawyers ready to go too after election

The good news is that there is a DeSantis out there. The bad news is that we need more like him.

DeSantis is Trump without the mean tweets that the MSM used to get their way. They’re screwed this time around if he gets the nomination. They’re stuck with having to discuss policy rather than personality.

Considering Trump’s record of hiring lousy traitors’ I’m fine with DeSantis on top of 2024 with Trump as as key advisor and fund-raiser. He’s at least as strong in his support of MAGA as Trump and gets things done.

I personally think Schlichter turns too many phrases. His writing style always includes a bunch of extra clauses that really don't add anything to the actual point he's making. Just reread his first paragraph and see how much verbiage is completely unnecessary.

But I suppose that's a matter of taste. I just have a hard time getting through some of his articles because of that.

I know what you mean. Sometimes I can read a few paragraphs of Schlichter and quit. I have to be in the mood to read a whole column of his.

But there are scores of other writers in the “Just the facts, ma’am” category I can turn to.

Of course, then I get absolutely fed up with the whole sordid mess of people out to destroy Truth, Justice, and the American Way and I just tune it all out for a few days. Then it sucks me back in.

It’s nice to have a few clever phrases to add some color. Schlichter just overdoes it.

I also liked “Whogivesadamnistan”

Yes, because he actually governs well. Unlike the “cut taxes for rich while increasing defense spending and foreign commitments” morons in congress and the “look at me preen for a future talk show/podcast spot” while I do nothing for my constituents (I am looking at you Matt Gaetz).

“DeSantis is Trump without the mean tweets that the MSM used to get their way.”

It doesn’t really matter to the MSM/Democrats, they’ll go after whomever stands in their way.

And, it doesn’t have to be over something “mean.”

A couple of weeks ago they immediately went on the attack when DeSantis had the audacity to tell high school students they didn’t need to wear masks.
