Let us remember that, unlike congress, pilots have real and very important jobs. Ones that require talent, judgement and intelligence (none of which are requirements to be a congress-critter).

I won’t go on an airliner until the mask mandate is gone. It’s bad enough that the cabin altitude is about 8000 ft, the mask makes it that much worse for breathing.
The Pilots have a lot more Power than they are willing to exercise. As Pilot in Command they are the Sole and Final Authority as to who is allowed on their Plane, (Federal Law) if they simply all got behind one idea like NO PUBLIC EMPLOYEE’S ALLOWED ON MY PLANE, and forced their removal, which they have the ABSOLUTE AUTHORITY to do under FAA Regulations this crap would end in a week

We will drive fr dallas area to Buffalo NY in May. Hubbies mom is 93 n we haven’t seen her since Aug 2019.
I may be visiting the Houston area in November. Unless gas prices become prohibitive, I plan to drive from the Los Angeles area.

The flight deck crew’s mental acuity is more important than anybody else’s on the plane. That’s why they have the only oxygen masks that deliver undiluted gas and form a hermetic seal against the face. A face diaper compromises that seal, which also prevents them from receiving undiluted oxygen.
The pilots aren’t going to die from covid before the plane lands, but if they get hypoxic because of a face diaper, everybody on the plane might die.
