Well I got nothing against the press
They wouldn’t print it if it wasn’t true
The Gulf of Tonkin incident immediately comes to mind.
Any of us who served during the Vietnam Conflict have seen all of the narratives. It is scary...
No surprises here, the media is the enemy within.
Regarding the Sinking of The Maine, and Our going to war in Cuba; Leftists will childishly, self righteously, whine that “Hey, that was William Hearst’s idea. He was a RIGHT Wing War monger! We’re LEFT Wing ,WE are not War mongers! We would NEVER lie thru the press to get us into war!!!!”
Do we have a ship named after a state that we could drag over to say a close by port??
What is something is that the “media” is all fired up to send our boys halfway around the world to fight someone else’s wars but give no attention to the invasion on our own southern border. A journalist’s live expectancy in Mexico is very short, so this affects their own kind, but not a peep.
The Maine was by no means the first coaler to explode. Nor the last.
The press wants to keep Americans focused on the Ukraine rather than how the Democrats are corrupting our youth and destroying our quality of life. Focused on the little villain Putin rather than the much bigger villain Biden and hs fellow travelers in Brussels.
The problem with the press helping to drag us into another disastrous war is that this time it might be a total nuclear one, and the Times and other news sources will have some work to do to sell subscriptions after 200 million Americans are dead.
My prayer is that some cooler heads will prevail and put a stop to this insane rush into total war. Even if Biden put a stop to it I would give him all the credit in the world. I even pray for him, and that’s not easy to do right now because I can’t stand the guy.
Gorge Santayana might have not said or written another thing worth remembering but he got one thing dead right.
Worse, thanks to our state run educational system we’ve had a generation now taught nothing they could later forget.
William Randolph Hearst - “You furnish the pictures and I’ll furnish the war.”
Great Article. Great Post!
Hearst told Frederick Remington: “You supply the pictures, I’ll supply the war.”
“The press has lied to drag the United States into war.... “
Aw, ya think? And the NYT has been right up there at the front of the parade, just about every time.
The more things change, the more they remain the same. It is all cosmetics, dressing up the same old distortions and manufactured “facts” to marshal the groupthink.
War, any war, is a source of great entertainment and commitment, especially by those who are not to be actively engaged in any actual combat. In the abstract, going to war has a fascination that cannot be compared to any other human endeavor.
It’s inevitable.
The Western Media Problem is not dead reporters, it is not enough.
