Gang said China would have tried to prevent 'the imminent crisis' had it known of the Kremlin's plans beforehand

In other words, don’t interfere with our province of Taiwan or our territory in the South China Sea inside of the 9 dash line.

This, he added, meant 'the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, including Ukraine, must be respected'.
'The legitimate security concerns of all countries must be taken seriously; and all efforts that are conducive to the peaceful settlement of the crisis must be supported,' Gang wrote.

quote “sovereignty and territorial integrity’ of Kyiv ‘must be respected”
yeah.. that is not saying what you think it’s saying since China considers Tawain part of its sovereign territory.

But only what the ChiComs recognize … otherwise it’s all up for grabs for their benefit.
The junta in Beijing is illegitimate.

Accurate story? Lot of “writer opinions” out there. But if it’s bad for Putin then it’s good for the world.

One of the ways the US entered the ranks of the great powers was when TR brokered an end to the Russo-Japanese war.
Since we are sidelined by having no President, I wonder if the Chinese see this as an opportunity.
It would be ironic if Putin's war leads to the only country posing a genuine geopolitical threat to Russia acting as guarantor of Ukraine's security.
