The Oliver Stone movie does a decent job of explaining it and how this came about in Western Ukraine during WW2. It is real and as the movie shows with video from 2014, actively present/excepted in some forms by the government.
It exists today more like a version of white supremacy via anti-russian(Orthodox)

You know what I saw when I got to the ‘Maidan revolution’ part of Stone’s doc?
The birth of the modern US antifa groups.
It now seems clear that antifa was nurtured/organized over several years to avoid being easily tracked online, bursting onto the scene in 2017 (irony) and clearly the group was given a pass by federal authorities. DHS may have warned about antifa in ‘16, but they did absolutely nothing.
But no one is investigating these coincidences.
