Russian and Ukrainian officials gave their most upbeat assessments yet on Sunday of progress in their talks on the war in Ukraine, suggesting there could be positive results within days.

Separately, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman said Russia was showing signs of willingness to engage in substantive negotiations about ending a conflict in which thousands have died. More than 2.5 million people have fled.

RIA news agency quoted a Russian delegate, Leonid Slutsky, as saying the talks had made substantial progress.

"According to my personal expectations, this progress may grow in the coming days into a joint position of both delegations, into documents for signing," Slutsky said.

Neither side indicated what the scope of any agreement might be.

In a tweet, Podolyak said Russia was carefully listening to Ukraine's proposals. "Our demands are - the end of the war and the withdrawal of (Russian) troops. I see the understanding and there is a dialogue," he said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday there had been some "positive shifts" in the talks, but did not elaborate. On Saturday the Kremlin said the discussions between Russian and Ukrainian officials had been continuing "in video format".

Russia's RIA indicating a signed deal with Ukraine by March 16.

Hopefully both sides will agree to a deal to end the war and Putin can continue to waste away in pain and die from his spinal cancer.

Good heavens! If Russian-Ukraine hostilities cease, where is our poor beleaguered media going to find their next distraction from America’s senile president and brainless vice president?

Withdrawal of Russian Troops. Ukraine will get it military rebuilt with high grade US and Western arms while Russia will be very hard pressed to afford to do squat about replacing what they lost.

Ukraine should do as much damage as they can before 4Russia would leave. Keep abandoned equipment.

Ukraine will want payback in the future. Start with Belarus.

So what- it’s Europe’s problem. “Payback” is contrary to the idea of “peace agreement”.

They finally agreed that the flags of the two countries would be spaced six-feet apart on the negotiating table.

Interesting to see if any meaningful movement in the Sunday futures market opens. The big traders are always, always getting news like this and thinking how they can trade it. Those on the inside of these negotiations will be placing bets and giving inside info out to those who want to.

All the markets started moving into their war trands 2 weeks before Saddam invaded Kuwait. Russions, Iraqis, MI6, and our CIA were pkacing bets.

I bet deal will be Russia will keep Crimea and keep Donbass areas they already have prior to the war and Ukraine will agree to no-NATO. And Russia does not get any new territory beyond what they had prior to the start of the war. We’ll see.

I would also allow Western Ukraine (L’viv) to break off and join the EU, at least it would give Poland a bit of a buffer. Plus the area traditionally belonged to Austria-Hungary, not Russia, in fact some areas of Western Ukraine, have mostly Hungarian speakers.

If this cease fire is accomplished, BLM and Anteefa will react to a pseudo false flag here in Murica and take to the streets (also move on to the burbs) to finish tearing down our pathetic excuse for a “nation of laws and unity”.

The pressure on Putin to figure how to weasal his way out of his raging dumpster fire must be tremendous. Everyone in Russia is getting shafted badly due to his huge screwup.

Ukraine and Ukrainians don’t want payback against Belarusian or Russian people. They want payback against Putin and Lukashenko

Hey that’s important. You can’t get the Rona or any other biological weapon on your flag and then take it home to the Babushkas.

Putin’s accomplishments:

1. United the NATO alliance and gave it an urgent mission

2. Caused a massive spending increase by Germany on NATO, other countries too (President Trump was never able to accomplish this much)

3. Paved the way for Ukraine to enter the EU, Putin’s opposition to which started this whole series of events many years ago

4. EU rapidly diversifying away from Russian energy

5. China licking its chops to rape Russia economically

6. Impoverishing the Russian people by isolating them from the economically advanced countries of the world except China

7. Destroyed any remaining pro-Russian sympathy among the population of Eastern Ukraine

8. Destroyed beautiful historic cities in Ukraine, killed many thousands of civilians and thousands of Ukrainians who were defending their country

9. Threw away the lives of many thousands of young Russian males for nothing

10. Destroyed the reputation of the Russian military and its intimidation factor

11. Emboldened separatists on the fringes of Russia

12. Destroyed what little political freedom there was in Russia and arrested over 10,000 peaceful protesters

13. Pulled the rug out from under his ally Lukashenko in Belarus who is facing mutiny as his army refuses to advance into Ukraine

14. Caused a generalized hatred of Russians all over the world

15. Left his position in Syria weakened

16. Significantly weakened the conservative movement in the US because of foolish ignoramuses who supported Putin and falsely believed he was a genuine Christian and a good guy

And of course the speech writers are crafting Biden’s triumphant speech how he, himself, after smiting Corn Pop, brought peace to Ukraine.
