I live in Graham and haven’t worn a mask in the stores in over a year, and before that it was just a plastic shield attached to my baseball hat. Went to Safeway this morning and there were still some mask wearers. Idiots.
In the part of Washington that we live in, very few fast food restaurants have allowed customers into their lobbies at all for most of the last 2 years. Certainly no sit down seating has been allowed. Regular restaurants have been requiring proof of vaccination to dine in.
Yes, we have relatives in Graham, Roy, Yelm, and other parts of Eastern Pierce County. It is a different world. But even by the time you get up into Enumclaw in South King County you start to run into the madness.
In Tri-Cities lobbies have been open since about August, I believe. I’ve never been asked about vaccination in Eastern WA (here or Spokane), Eastern Or, or Idaho (of course). Different culture from west of the Cascades.
Washington and Oregon finally wake up. MASKS ARE WORTHLESS!!
As of today, only UC Berkeley of the 10 UC campuses have lifted the mask mandate. Five more have stated a future date to lift, and 4 have not announced any end to forcibly masking students. If the 23 Cal State campuses, 16 have not announced any lifting.

Yes they are, but forcing people to wear them gives would be dictators like Inslee a tingly feeling in all the right places.
It was a trial run to gauge how compliant the population would be with what is coming next.
