States among the last to lift the mandate PORTLAND — After spending a majority of the pandemic under statewide indoor face covering requirements, Washington and Oregon will be lifting their mask mandates Saturday — marking a significant step in restoring normalcy.
The milestone, which comes two years after the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a pandemic, is on trend with the rest of the country as public health orders were dropped in droves. Oregon and Washington are among the last states to lift mask requirements.
“We’re turning a page in our fight against the COVID virus,” Washington Gov. Jay Inslee said during a recent news conference.
Last month — as COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations drastically declined, following a surge caused by the omicron variant — Oregon and Washington’s Democratic governors announced that they would be lifting rules requiring masks in indoor public places and schools on March 12.

There were actually a few college aged protestors in the parking lot with signs who are now afraid or something.
Watching Yale vs Princeton basketball and they showed a shot of the band.
A girl with a wind instrument had a mask on - with a large opening in the middle so she could play her instrument!

The only thing good about this Ukrainian war is that I don’t have to hear about the Scamdemic.
Wait a minute. This must be from the babylon bee. I thought inslee and brown were hard over on making the masks a forever thing. What’s next? NO vax requirements for colleges?

Hurray the Covid-19 police are disbanding. All we have to worry about is the Climate Change Police ... because Climate Change never ends.
There is a full court press by the marxists to shame the people in to wearing masks. Now anyone who is unmasked is going to kill “immune compromised “ people. The virtue signallers of the cities will keep wearing masks to show they care. The rest of the people haven’t worn masks the entire time. Kate Brown is not up for re-election but the rest of the democrats are.

We are seeing about the same here on N. Californicator land.
My weekly trip to a local smaller version of a big chain grocery store showed more employees and customers not wearing masks. It was about 1/3 wearing masks 1+ weeks ago, and about 50/50 re no masks or masks.
We live in a hilly area with some steep roads, and many if not most of us have told mask wearers if they collapse while wearing a mask going up one of our local hills.
We will come inside and call 911. No one will give any idiot CPR if they collapse wearing a mask going up or down our steep hills.
What’s more Liberal than

My wife I are doing all that we can to move out to this place which has been our home since we were born. In this area it is now uncommon to run into someone who is actually from here. It has been an invasion. People who think that with the current policies it cannot happen where they live are crazy.

I am in WA state also and have never worn a mask in a grocery store.
Then you likely do not live in the Seattle/Tacoma metropolitan area. There has basically been 100% compliance where we are at... until yesterday I had not seen one person in the stores that we shop at without a mask for months. When we tried we were handed masks by employees and told them to wear them or get out.
We have received around 60 “free” masks this way.
I clicked on this post to say almost exactly what you did.
I believe they made a law extending the emergency so they can re institute it any time they want. To infinity and beyond

That happened to me only once — at a Carl’s Jr last year — She didn’t say “Get out” but wouldn’t take the order unless I masked up. But they dropped the requirement soon after.
That’s very amusing!
Her Music Teacher probably ordered her to do it if she wanted to play with the band.
In the future, people won’t believe us when we describe just how absurd it all became.
