Ukraine’s most sophisticated attack drone is about as stealthy as a crop duster: slow, low-flying and completely defenseless. So when the Russian invasion began, many experts expected the few drones that the Ukrainian forces managed to get off the ground would be shot down in hours.
But more than two weeks into the conflict, Ukraine’s drones — Turkish-made Bayraktar TB2 models that buzz along at about half the speed of a Cessna — are not only still flying, they also shoot guided missiles at Russian missile launchers, tanks and supply trains, according to Pentagon officials.

” buzz along at about half the speed of a Cessna “
Which Cessna?
Not 122? You sure?
Who knows - actually counts on anything are enhanced by both sides during a conflict. From deaths to armament and vehicles. But the fact does remain that Ukraine areas are being targeted and their bombs dropping.
“Well they aren’t technically Ukraine’s drones.....but reported 121 unmanned aerial units have been destroyed by Russia.”
Ukraine only has 14 of them at the start of the war. So I guess they destroyed each of them 10 times?
Bayraktar!

Give me 100 Bayraktars and 1000 Hellfires and I’ll fix the world.
The drones may be to slow for the SAM’s to effectively hit.

Another reminder that the Bayraktar TB2 in the hands of the Ukrainian Air Force still flies.
More Russian vehicles (Ural-4320 and KamAZ with EOV-3523 excavator) destroyed, part of the famous convoy somewhere in the #Kyiv Oblast.

More recent footage from the eyes of the Bayraktar TB2 drone in the hands of the Ukrainian military; another 9K317 Buk-M2 TELAR completely destroyed.

Interesting if true..
I could build a crap ton of super slow electric solar powered balsa wood drones given the right military contract
Why would slow be a problem?
Bwahahaha!
Control signals from the ground based radar may not allow updating at a rate that lets the missile actually hit the target. Or it could be that the drones do not show up on Russian radar.
Which Cessna?
The one that goes about twice as fast as the Bayraktar TB2, DUH!
Gotta love journalists...
I was sure that you were going to say that it’s hard to tell the difference between low-and-slow and the ground. I expect the missiles are using radar and use the missile’s own speed to determine what is the ground, and probably not a good target. Anything too slow and near the ground would be ignored.
