The Bolivian soldier who executed Ernesto "Che" Guevara more than 50 years ago died this week at the age of 80.

Mario Terán, part of a military group that captured the Argentinian-born revolutionary in 1967, succumbed to a long-term illness and is survived by his two children and his wife, according to The Guardian.

“[Terán] simply complied with his duty as a sergeant of the army,” retired general Gary Prado, who reportedly led the group, told Radio Compañera, The Guardian reported.

Terán had said he was only following orders when he killed Guevara, who had been on the run from Bolivian authorities.

“It was the worst moment of my life,” he reportedly told journalists later. “I saw Che large, very large. His eyes shone intensely. I felt him coming over me and when he fixed his gaze on me, it made me dizzy ..."

“‘Calm yourself,’ he told me, ‘and aim well! You are going to kill a man!’ Then I took a step back toward the door, close my eyes and fired," Terán added.

Guevara was a key player in the Cuban Revolution, helping to end the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista. He later fought for revolutionary causes in both Africa and South America.

The best response to “Che lives” is “shoot him again”.

>>Terán had said he was only following orders when he killed Guevara

And here I was going to celebrate this man’s accomplishment.

It turns out that his commanding officer was the real hero.

“‘Calm yourself,’ he told me, ‘and aim well! You are going to kill a man!’

BS. Other accounts told of Guevara whining and bawling like petulant bitch before execution.

Che was a freakin murdering commie. They don’t mention that they sent his hands and head to Washington in a box. He couldn’t have been disposed of any better.

They should have removed his hands before the execution… just for fun.

"Guevara was a key player in the Cuban Revolution, helping to end the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista. He later fought for revolutionary causes in both Africa and South America."

Note how the Left's (Politico and other media sympathizers) love of Socialism, Cuba, and Castro ignores truth and publishes only lies about them. Guevara was a sadistic murdering thug who was so enamored of firing squads that he had a brick wall removed so he could watch executions from his office.

“I’m going to show you how to die” Read it in one book. I guess we won’t really know how it happened. Same with Bin Laden and his secret ‘burial’. Khadafy appeared to go out in that cowardly way. Saddam? There was no hope for him so he mighta been just a bit braver.

Brave is Rudy Guiliani wanting to be the one to execute Bin Laden. Some Guantanamo detainees need that treatment but the POTUS would get the blame for approving/not standing in the way. None are as brave as Rudy.

Would Zelensky be the one to pull the trigger with Putin in front of a firing squad? Unlike Che this could be filmed in real time. Zelensky’s a Jew. You know. An eye for an eye.

Hypothetical. Putin would never be captured alive.

When a swim coach, one of my swimmers had a Che swim suit. He thought it was really cool.

I told him he would not be allowed to practice or be in any meets until he gave me a written report on the Massacre de la Cabana.

Never saw a report, but never saw the suit again, which was OK with me.

Actually, I did get a call from his Dad to say thank you. At that time it was not a fight he wanted to take up with his son. Had other bigger things going on.
