Commissioner Danielle Outlaw said Tuesday that the officer is being suspended for 30 days with the intent to dismiss for violations of the use of force policy.

Might be against policy to shoot the fleeing perp in the back. Maybe the kid kept firing at the officers while running. Who knows. not sure if there is body cams.

Some really weird things about this article:
- It quotes Attorney Conor Corcoran without mentioning for whom he is an attorney. Though most probably the family of the 12 year old since he accuses the cops of murder.
- The Philadelphia police commissioner is a black woman with the surname of Outlaw.
- Before the cops fire a shot they have their back windshield shot out and one of them in injured by the flying glass.
- The cute little 12 year old is holding a gun when the cops emerge from the car in pursuit.
- But, according to Attorney Conor Corcoran, he couldn't have fired the gun because his fingernails were intact at the morgue. Commissioner Outlaw refuses to either confirm or deny.
- Four cops in plain clothes were on a stakeout because there was reports of a gun in the neighborhood. They approached and turned on their lights and siren because they saw a known felon (in coded newspeak) with the cute little 12 year old.
- No word on whether the known felon got away, so one presumes he did.
- The cute little 12 year old appears to be WHITE!
This is what passes for journalism these days.

To: Vigilanteman
The 12-year-old wasn’t armed... That’s the issue.

Chased him down and shot him in the back is what I read. They did discover a stolen pistol at the scene but not on the kid.

You make great points. The law suit was filed by the father who is currently in jail. The cute little 12 year old was a white gangster wannabe.

If you had been involved in law enforcement.
You would have known this for a while.
To: JerseyDvl
Maybe. Maybe not. The article is unclear at this point. Looks like a cop sez, lawyer sez.

According to the lawyer for the deceased who, as we are all supposed to know, are experts in these matters, fingernails would be damaged or removed if they were checking for gunshot residue.
I really don't buy this, but I'm just a stupid civilian who isn't an expert in these matters.
